Description
Multimedia
Bass amp technology takes a big stride forward with the new D-Bass series. Roland's newest and most advanced bass amplifiers employ proprietary FFP with Active Speaker Control technology for lightning-fast response and ultra-high quality bass tone.

Features
Built with FFP with Active Speaker Control technology for super high-quality sound, power, and efficiency

COSM preamp models, including Modern, Vintage, and Super Flat

Tube Logic function produces the fat and natural compression of tube amps

4-band EQ with dedicated tweeter Control knob

Passive/active input and dedicated piezo input also built in -- perfect for any type of bass sounds

Rock-solid construction, but lighter overall weight to ease the burden of transportation

High-performance neodymium-based speaker

FFP upgraded with Active Speaker Control
To achieve their high-quality sound and amazing performance, the new D-Bass amps employ breakthrough Roland technology: FFP incorporating Active Speaker Control. FFP (Feed Forward Processing) is a DSP-based process that analyzes incoming signal and maximizes it before it hits the speaker. By utilizing Active Speaker Control, FFP allows the D-BASS to faithfully reproduce the incoming signal of the original bass, thereby controlling its speaker movement to reproduce the same input signal as closely as possible. This "true input matching" technology allows lower-string sounds to be much clearer, and the overall feel to be more direct than with other bass amplifiers. A technology exclusive to Roland amps, FFP provides a marked increase in speaker efficiency, loudness boost, and overall perceived power.

Road tough, lightweight
Don't let their lighter-than-average weight fool you. These amps are tough as nails and built for the road. Equipped with high-performance, low-weight neodymium speaker magnets, each new D-Bass amp is a performance powerhouse that's a joy to transport. Industrial strength, smooth-rolling casters make the job of getting from gig A to B even easier.

COSM preamps
Equipped with Vintage, Modern, and Super Flat COSM preamp models, the D-Bass 210's COSM preamps can deliver a range of great tones beyond that of a traditional analog bass amp. With the simple, analog-style controls, you can control your sound quickly and easily. Roland's unique "Super Flat" setting reproduces the bass guitar's original sound characteristic without coloration. Its fat and clear characteristic is also perfect for the piezo sound of upright bass. Detailed sound adjustments are possible with the 4-band EQ, including a dedicated tweeter control knob.

Two compression types
The 210 D-Bass amp is equipped with pro-quality solid-state compression, plus a Tube Logic section. Derived from Roland's BluesCUBE, the newly improved Tube Logic produces the type of fat and natural compression associated with vintage tube amps. No matter how razor-sharp the tone, Tube Logic can dunk it in a liquid-warm bath.

Satellite power
Need more beef? Add a D-Bass 115X powered speaker cab. Designed to be a perfect match electronically and physically for the D-Bass 210, the 115X provides 300 crushing watts of add-on power for the extra volume and punch required by larger venues and stages. The 115X has a switch for full range or sub woofer mode, affording players the flexibility they need to maximize their rigs from stage to stage.

"Loud, light, and amazing tone!"
Feature:
It's light. Both components are under 50 pounds. And it's freakin loud. I play in a band with a couple of full stacks and a loud drummer, and I cut right through, no problem.

Quality:
Don't like the attached power chord much. That worries me. Otherwise, the cabinets have 2 locking features and are very secure when stacked. Spray on coating seems durable, and all controls are recessed.

Value:
It's a bit pricy, but you definitely get what you pay for. Super light, high power bass rigs just didn't exist before this. I paid $1850 for the 210 and the cabinet at a local place. That's a lot of tone for under 2K.

Desirability:
It's Light! It's Loud! It Sounds GREAT! And it's a bass amp? Wow!

Sound:
This is a very high quality amp. The three COSM Models are all useful, the compression is subtle and effective, and it has a very controllable sound. The horn control is on the front of the amp (duh!, why are most in back?), and with very mild EQ-ing and horn adjustment you can get razor sharp highs and big, controlled lows. I've owned everything from SWR's to Ampegs, to GK's, to full on rack rigs, and this thing simply sounds great. I use the 210 model, with the 115 extension cabinet. I'm using the extension as a sub, so it's actually a tri-amp setup. It sounds killer, and the amp is dead quiet in between notes, even cranked. Use a Carvin Icon and a Warwick Thumb fretless. Play a wierd metal/jazz hybrid style of music, and run a lot of effects.

Ease of Use:
Simple as it gets. Sounds good flat, minor tweaking yields major results.

Support:
It's always a 10 when you don't ever need it. No issues.

Overall:
I'm saving for a second set so I can run in stereo. I'm selling my GK 2001 RB and 4 GK 2 X 10 cabs because this set-up sounds better and is PLENTY loud. Stereo wil be very cool.
