Conjure up beefy twang with this humbucker-sized P90. Designed for any guitar, this pickup creates percussive tone with country-lovin' upper-midrange honk.

Railhammer bred the tones of a Tele bridge pickup with a P90 and fit it into a standard size humbucker box. This hybrid design has the punch of a P90, but it's cleaner, with more treble/upper mid honk, and less lower mids for a more open and percussive sound. And the full metal cover makes it much quieter (less hum) than a standard P90. Great for retro rock, surf, rockabilly, country or any style where beefy twang's the thang. And like all Railhammers, the extra clarity on the low strings means they also work great with low tuned guitars.

Rails under the wound strings for tight clear lows

Thin rails sense a narrow section of string, reducing note smearing and muddiness. There's still plenty of low end, it's just more defined and less mushy. Aggressive fast riffs, complex chords, and palm muting are tight, clear and cut through the mix. Clean or dirty, standard or low-tuned, the clarity is beyond other pickups.

Poles under the plain strings for fat singing highs

Oversize 6mm diameter poles sense a wide section of string, increasing thickness and sustain. Slow bend, double stops, or fast shred, the tone stays fluid and soulful without any thin, nasty harshness.

Efficient magnetic structure

The rails/poles are larger than traditional polepieces, and have a very large surface area contacting the magnet. This produces a strong and wide magnetic field which is very touch sensitive and responsive to your playing technique. It also means no dead spots when you bend, even read more on the pole side.

Height tapered rails

The rails taper up, with the highest point under the D string. Volume of the D string is now increased, which is typically weaker. This gives you more consistent volume overall from string to string.

Six screw baseplate

A traditional baseplate has four screws securing the bobbins to the baseplate. Railhammer added two extra screws which reduces internal vibration, preventing uncontrollable feedback and squealing.

No moving parts

Non-adjustable poles, along with vacuum wax potted coils and the six screw baseplate, result in a solid pickup with no moving parts. Excess vibration of parts has been eliminated to avoid uncontrollable feedback and squealing. Another benefit is enhanced clarity and response, because when the parts don't vibrate, they more accurately sense string movement.

Universal spacing

The oversize poles and long rails cover a wide string spread, which means the spacing will work with just about any guitar in any position.

I've never been a fan of humbuckers, always seemed muddy to my ears. I usually play a Tele's; I have SSH and HSS Tele models. I also have a Les Paul custom that hardly gets any attention...until now. I replaced Gibson Burstbucker bridge pickup with a Tel90 and I'm loving it. I wanted a humbucker sized P90 in the LP and decided on this one over the Seymour Duncan Phat Cat, based on the audio clips on RailHammer's website. The Tel90 is detailed, articulate and kind of "spanky." It's not quite the twang you'd expect from a Tele, but not quite a soap bar either. It's fair to say it's a cross between the 2. You can get more of one or the other, with the tone knob. This pick up is articulate and hot, the Tele90 sits lower (further away from the strings), to match volume with the burstbucker in the neck and definitely drives the tubes to break up quicker than the burstbucker did...imagine AC/DC chicken pickin'...that's right...I said it. I may even order another one for my SSH Tele.
