I have been playing since 1964 so, that means I've tried a lot of different vintage and new amps during the past forty-six years. I don't want to name all of the amps I have had during that time but I will name the best ones. 1965 Fender Bassman, 1969 Fender super reverb, 1972 Vox AC30, 1985 Peavey Deuce, 2002 Peavey classic 50 212. In my opinion, none of these amps has a better sound than the Rivera Venus 3. If I am playing a larger venue (Peabody hotel Orlando 3000+people) I simply mike the amp into the main system. It's light, easy to handle (for an old man like me this is a good thing) and it looks good too. I have the cream colored amp and speaker. The cellestion classic is a great choice for this amp. I also have a cabinet with an alnico blue that I use when playing jazz and big band stuff. All of my guitars except for a Paul Reed Smith are pretty old and this amp makes all of them sound fantastic. Even my 66' Gretch White Falcon sounds good--this guitar usually needs an acoustic type amp to get it's best sound but I don't need that any more either. If anything happened to this amp, I would replace it with the same amp. This is probably the last amp I will ever buy. The only thing lacking on this amp is a foot switch for the reverb and high gain. By the way, Rivera stands behind their products. They get back to you in less than 24 hours and take care of everything. Great Amp, Great Company, Great Customer Service
