Randall Thrasher Guitar Amplifier Head (120 Watts)

Become a master of high-gain tone: plug in to the Randall Thrasher head and fine-tune your sound with unique low-frequency and high-frequency gain controls.

As the name implies, the Randall Thrasher series amplifiers are the top of the food chain in hi-gain amplification for the serious player. From the bench of esteemed amp guru, Mike Fortin, this amp offers the user to tailor the aspect of their gain in ways that no other amps have done.
with 3 different gain controls at the front, end-LF Gain allows control over the low frequency gain, while the HF Gain offers control of the high frequency gain. That combined with the over gain knob lets the player carve out by frequency the areas in which the most saturation is desired. This is extremely useful with drop tunings and extended string sets. While most amp loss focus with that much low end signal combined with hi gain, the Thrasher can hold together by decreasing the LF Gain and tightening up the bottom end for the maximum clarity and punch.

It sounds great, but one should know what they're getting into and their goals before getting this unit. I paired mine with a 1960a cabinet. I would not recommend v30s on this head. Additionally don't try to record it at low volume, it sounds okay in person at low volume but miced up it's thin and weird up in the highs. If dialed in correctly, it produces the chuggy ola englund sound from the rejects album. It can do AC DC really well and it has a beautiful fender sparkle to the clean channel. A lot of people are biased to the Randall Satan. I like this one a lot more. It sounds more like the fortin natas, but I can't recommend it to someone who doesn't want to tweak much, or has a specific sound they want in mind.
