With its 64-bit architecture, Element 64 is able to address huge amounts of RAM, technology that will become increasingly pertinent as more soft synths and plug-ins are engineered to utilize it. Both systems employ all aluminum chassis and advanced cooling systems to stay virtually silent without overheating.
Element T2
Element's 2GB of 667MHz memory and dual 250 SATA II hard drives (300 Mbps throughput) run just about any audio hardware and software on the market today. This version of our Element Audio PC with its dedicated streaming audio drive is completely ready and capable of recording 32 tracks of audio, running numerous instances of effects plug-ins and virtual instruments.
Quiet Cool. Deep inside Element sits a cooling system as advanced as it is quiet. Using heat-sensor circuitry to control the cooling fan's speed in relation to core temperature, heat is moved away from the processor efficiently and without creating excess noise. So even in a smaller studio where the CPU is placed near a microphone, Element stays virtually silent keeping the recording as clean as it should be. In addition, Element's aluminum skin easily dissipates heat before it builds up.
The Complete Solution. Though Rain recommends the purchase of an external USB, FireWire or PCI sound card, Element's onboard, high quality 2 channel (8.1 Surround) audio card from Intel paired with SONAR LE (included) is capable of recording, mixing and playback functionality. Also included free are copies of Cakewalk SONAR LE, Tascam GigaStudio Solo, PCDJ professional DJ mixing and NERO CD/DVD burning software. Just open the box and start creating.
Plug and Play. The Element is designed to grow with you. Eight USB 2.0 ports and 6 FireWire 400 ports take any audio interface you need to get the job done. Four PCI slots provide the freedom to expand. Hook up a second monitor with the included dual video card and burn CDs and DVDs with the standard DVD±RW/CD-RW Optical Drive.

Intel High Definition Audio. Intel has worked with the audio industry to develop a new specification for integrated audio that is capable of delivering the features and high-end performance of an add-in audio card. Intel High Definition Audio (Intel HD Audio) is capable of playing back more channels at higher quality than previous integrated audio formats.
Intel HD Audio is capable of delivering the support and sound quality for up to eight channels at 192 kHz/32-bit quality. In addition, Intel HD Audio is architected to prevent the occasional glitches or pops that other audio solutions can have by providing dedicated system bandwidth for critical audio functions.
Microsoft* has chosen Intel HD Audio as the main architecture for their new Unified Audio Architecture* (UAA), which provides one driver that will support all Intel HD Audio controllers and codecs. Intel HD Audio also provides Improvements that support better jack re-tasking. The computer can sense when a device is plugged into an audio jack, determine what kind of device it is, and change the port function if the device has been plugged into the wrong port. For example, if a microphone is plugged into a speaker jack, the computer will recognize the error and can change the jack to function as a microphone jack. This is an important step in getting audio to a point where it 'just works' -- users won't need to worry about.
