Radial Twin-City ABY Amp Switcher Pedal

Power 2 amps in unison, or switch between them! The Twin-City amp switcher reduces unwanted noise and gain loss, and keeps your guitar's natural tone intact.

The Twin-City is an active ABY switcher and buffer that enables you to connect any two amps and drive them simultaneously without noise, loss of gain and without degrading your natural guitar tone. This is accomplished with Radial's highly acclaimed buffering technology and the same Drag Control (TM) load correction circuitry as used in the award-winning Radial JD7 Injector. The 'set and' forget Drag Control lets you compensate for cable signal loss and introduce the perfect amount of loading to replicate the way your guitar and amp interact.

To eliminate hum and buzz from ground loops, the Twin-City is equipped with an isolation transformer on output B. This is augmented with a ground lift switch and 180o polarity reverse switch that ensures both amplifiers play in phase while noise is reduced to an absolute minimum even when using older vintage amps that are generally more prone to noise. As a buffer, the Twin-City lowers the impedance and susceptibility to noise, making it the ideal signal driver for large stages when using long cable runs.

180-degree polarity sets both amps in phase

Compact to fit on any pedalboard

Like all Radial products, the Bones are constructed from heavy 14 gauge steel for greater durability and added 'stay put' when kicked around on a busy stage. For even greater durability, the Twin-City read more employs the EIS - Electronic Impulse Switching - for unmatched performance without the challenges posed by mechanical switches. Bright, easy to see LEDs deliver on-stage switching cues so you know exactly where you are at all times.

As most players employ pedalboards, the Twin-City features standard 'Boss style' 9V powering that will adapt to most multi-pedal power supplies. The ultra-compact design with top mounted output and DC connections allow pedals to be placed close together for those wishing maximum pedalboard density.

The Twin-City is a powerful ABY switcher that delivers all of the natural tone, punch and clarity of a true-bypass device without the popping noise of mechanical switches or the induced hum and buzz caused by ground loops.

I expect this pedal to last a long time. I've had for a few weeks, and so far, has been great!

Sound
My sound with both amps is clean, and balanced. This pedal effectively eliminates any hum, or other noise. I am running signal out to a Fender Blues Jr and a Mesa Boogie Nomad, and no issues.

Features
Of the ABY pedals out there, this had the features I really wanted. The LED lights to see what's on are a nice upgrade from the lower-priced options out there. I also really like ability to toggle which amp will be on, when not in the "Both" mode. Makes landing on the right sound much easier, when coming out of the two amps at once sound. The ground options, and the drag control are nice features too. These features put this pedal to the top of my list.

Ease of Use
The pedal is very easy to use. Does take some practice getting used to two amps, and when you want one, the other, or both engaged. However, the pedal makes it as easy as you'd want it to be.

Quality
Feels very sturdy and durable. All metal casing, and solid pedal switches. I bought this pedal, with expectations that it would be road-worthy. So far, everything is great.

Value
This pedal is more expensive than a lot of ABY switches out there. However, when you look at the ABY's that have LED lights, toggling between the two amps, and both, and the ground/lift, read more and drag controls, this is the best value in the market I've found to date.

Manufacturer Support
I have not dealt with Radial, as no issues with their product.

The Wow Factor
It looks good, is strong/solid, and works very well. A great product!!
