The HPR153F 3-way loudspeaker is a great choice when the warmth, clarity and projection of a horn loaded, cone midrange system is desired. The 15 in. driver and larger enclosure volume provide extension down to 38 Hz making the HPR153F well suited for reinforcement of music with lots of low frequency content. Mids are handled by a 6 in. cone driver that seamlessly covers the critical vocal region. A 1.4 in. (diaphragm) compression driver delivers brilliant top end response. The 600-watt (400 LF / 100 MF / 100 HF) power module includes a 100 Hz high-pass filter (HPF) for use in subwoofer-equipped systems.

Feature:
Gain control, high pass filter. Thats all you need in a powered speaker. The fact that each speaker has its own amp and seperate compressor is outstanding, You cannot "blow" these speakers!!!
Quality:
The ONLY issue that I have with these speakers is that they scratch pretty easily. They need the same spray on covering that Yamaha uses on their cabs.
Value:
To get the same quality unpowered cab with the same quality amps you would have to spend much more. Not to mention the outboard crossovers, compressor/limiters. With the QSC powered subs, you are looking at 4-WAY crossover points. That takes a lot of amps and equipment.
Desirability:

Sound:
One of the best speakers I have ever heard!! This past weekend, we played for a huge motorcycle rally in Corpus Christi. The speakers had plenty of power and lots of headroom left. Little or no coloration to the sound. Vocals are warm and full yet stand out in the mix. We "pink noised" the speakers when we got them. MINIMAL EQ required!! They are close to "reference quality"!!!! Amazing!!!

Plug in and play. What could be easier.

Awesome speakers....decent price.....easy to use, even for novice sound techs (like me). If they were stolen, I would ABSOLUTELY purchase the same speaker as replacements.

For the Money it is the best sounding balanced three way on the market. Most PA speakers I've heard don't sound all that great when they are turned down. These speakers sound like high fi speaker soft. When they are loud, they crank. RMX amp inside with built in limiter. The amps really match the speakers!
