Now with 96k sampling rate*, the DigiMAX is the newest member in the award winning family of Presonus micpre's. Combine 8 channels of pristine mic preamplification with 24 simultaneous digital and analog outputs, and the DigiMAX 96k seamlessly fits into any digital recording situation. Feature:
I loved the EQ button on each channel. Definitely gives you another option tonally when you are tracking.
Quality:
Big and beefy feeling. Definitely smokes the Focusrite Octopre which feels a lot lighter plus its made in China whereas the Digimax is made in the USA.
Value:
It's the best eight channel preamp I've heard for the money.
Sound:
I am amazed how great the preamps are in this box. And the limiters are definitely worth the extra money. Great value and sounds freaking killer too!

Had to leave a message but they called me back promptly. I wish more companies were like this one.

"Great preamp, except for the digital outs!"
Feature:
The digital output is poorly designed. You can only get four channels onto the lightpipe-out at 96 kHz! The Focusrite is better at this. The pad feature is great and VERY well implemented in circuitry. The "enhance" feature is downright silly- the whole point of multitracking is that you don't HAVE to use EQ or (much) dymanics while recording.
Quality:
Well made. Presonus is great about repair and providing parts when necessary.
Value:
Good value.
Sound:
Good sound. The actual front end to the preamp is a TI INA163, which is top-notch. Unfortunately, noise performance is disappointing compared to the Focusrite octopre.
