Feature:
I use the tube knob almost like an EQ. It adds mid for those thin sounding mics. But don't over use it with your good mics.
Quality:
Solide.
Value:
It's worth a lot more. Prbably around $600. Makes me want to try the MP20... can't imagine the sound quality of that unit.
Desirability:
Yeah.
Sound:
WOW ! Very suprised. I bought this unit only to give me 2 additional channels for tom tom micking. It ended up being my best sounding preamp for everything (espacially vocals).
This is a real preamp. It sounds better than many other preamps in the $700-$1000 range.
The trick : don't use the tubes that much. Simply turn the knob so that it engages the tubes, but don't get into overdrive. That way you'll get a perfect and pro sound.
Sounds amazing with the 414-ULS and all dynamic mics. Now I understand wy some people use the SM57 for vocals... it's all in the preamp.
Ease of Use:
Yep!
Support:
No trouble yet.
Overall:
I have 10 preamps, most of them more expensive. It's my favorite one for now.

Feature:
nothing special... everything works as advertised
Quality:
seems to be built well: metal encasement, solid feeling. the knobs do seem a little cheap though
Value:
like I said earlier, for low
Sound:
I haven't used any high-end gear, but I assume most studio recordings I listen to use pretty posh stuff, and this unit is definitely comparable. honestly, there are units for 3,000 so what can you really expect. the noise issues people talk about are probably due to bad engineering rather than a high noise floor. I use the crumiest setup: mxl - bluetube - laptop 1/8" line input, and the hiss is not distracting at all. like other people have said, you just need to watch your gain levels and make sure not to dial in too much tube
Ease of Use:
pretty simple, just plug it in and record
Support:
never dealt with them
Overall:
again, this isn't high-end gear... there are some idiosyncracies that you'll either like or not, but for the price this unit is great. it's definitely a step up from any mixer preamp that I've heard. Recordings sound closer and warmer, no doubt. If you aren't an audiophile this unit is fine. Most of the complaints are probably from picky gear-heads.
