Feature:
I don't have any complaints about the features that are on the DJM-3000, as I use close to every single one. The trim knobs are great. Most mixers I've used before this did not have trim that completely cut out the channel's audio source. Probably my fault for having a lower-grade mixer! The crossfader is BUTTER. Other brands that will remain nameless (like Vestax) claim to have the best crossfader, I bought this and disagree. The effects are killer for what they are, the BPM counter is pretty accurate (compared to my self-counting) -- I think the only effect the mixer would benefit from is a 3-5 second sample loop option, but even that isn't necessary. The mixer comes Pioneer CDJ-ready, which, if that's your thing, you're in luck... I don't have a Pioneer CDJ (read as "blasphemous vinyl junkie") so it doesn't apply to me really, but again... doesn't really matter. The features that are there are enough for what I do.
Quality:
The DJM-3000 is made rugged. I think the first thing that caught my eye about it was the look of it, and how durable it looked. That and that is was 19" rack-mountable. When I received the product, it was in ample packaging and it was in PERFECT condition. The product is more than appropriate for use away from the bedroom, it's been played out places and it definitely gets double-takes from other DJs. I don't see myself needing another mixer for a VERY long time.
Value:
This product is worth the price, especially compared to other mixers of similar caliber. Some people are big on other brands, but I think my money was well spent on the DJM-3000.
Desirability:
As mentioned before, I think the first thing that caught my eye about the DJM-3000 was how it looked and that is was 19" rack-mountable. At the time that I got, I was working with a Vestax VMC-004 4-channel mixer. Great mixer also, but I felt like I needed an upgrade. I certainly could have continued DJing with that setup, but as soon as I saw this mixer, I stopped looking for mixers to replace my Vestax. And now, I see this as being "essential."
Sound:
The sound of this mixer is simply AMAZING. That's really all that needs to be said. I have some low-end direct drive turntables that really become overlooked with the sound output of this product. I don't recommend purchasing this if you don't have proper monitors though, you're doing the mixer (and yourself) a great injustice.
Ease of Use:
This mixer is very easy to use. The layout of the mixer is pretty self-explanatory, and as mentioned already, it works great with my other DJ gear. If you're a beginner, you'll need to more than likely take a little time to peruse the manual, but the manual explains everything fine so you're good. No learning curve on this mixer really, but it's definitely different from most other 4-channel mixers I've personally used.
Support:
I haven't had to personally deal with Pioneer on this product. I don't know if I'll ever even need to.
Overall:
I think that this mixer is going to be an integral part of my DJ setup for a VERY long time. The features, the compatibility with my existing equipment... I don't know if I ever see myself getting rid of it. I know I'll upgrade or add stuff to my setup, but I think it will all supplement this mixer. A MUST for the serious DJ, without a doubt.
