Propel your tone with the versatile Triple XXX II. This Peavey head features a wide range of tones from every part of the rock spectrum.

The Peavey Triple XXX II delivers tones ranging from the Peavey Classic 50 to vintage British to the modern 3120 and all tones in between. The versatile and comprehensive control section supplies a master volume pot and independent volume knobs for each of the three channels (Clean, Rhythm and Lead). Tone shaping is accomplished through passive controls for Bass, Mid and Treble on the Clean channel, while the Rhythm and Lead channels utilize active Low, Mid and High controls.

The pristine Triple XXX II Clean channel is the perfect foundation for layering outboard effects. The high-gain Rhythm and Lead channels both include a Noise Gate and exclusive FAT switches that add extra heft, while the master section features the patented tone-sculpting tools, Resonance and Presence, which adjust upper- and lower-end response and damping factor. To top it off, the power amp can use EL34 or 6L6GC output tubes, further expanding the tonal options.

This is pretty much a Jsx. Really tight, bright crunch and lead channels and a pretty nice clean channel. Would be nice if each channel had its own presence and resonance but it doesnt really create any problems, clean still sounds good if you have the the presence and res set up for the lead and crunch. Def need an OD in front just like any other amp when your trying to get that tight chugga chugga choo choo. The lead channel has TONS of gain. I dont even have it past a 1/4 of the way up w/ an OD. Also none of the knobs have numbers around them so its more by ear than saying "bass at 7, treble at 6" etc. The eq on lead and crunch is active. This is different but is good because each one changes the sound drastically. So the bass, mid, treble, level, and gain are all active. The noise gate actually works quite well also. These are put together by hand in the grand ol US. Mine had some microhonic power tubes but I swapped those out for some jj kt77s. Also the bias test points do not measure in Mv or Ma. I reccomend getting a bias probe and biasing the amp yourself. New tubes and a cheap probe and multimeter would run you around $150 give or take. Chinese tubes sound quite well in it but I found 4 12ax7 to be too fizzy so i recommend some jj ecc832 or 12dw7 for v2 amd v3. Overall awesome amp and I would def recommend it to anyone who likes high gain amps.
