Need more bass? Not with the Peavey SP218BX. Loaded with dual 18-inch drivers, this massive passive subwoofer handles 2400 watts program/4800 watts peak.

The Peavey SP218BX Subwoofer will probably be the last word in your quest for low-end power. This high-output, low-distortion cabinet handles a ridiculously powerful 2400 watts of continuous power (4800 watts peak), pushed through two 18-inch Pro Rider woofers. These excellent-sounding speakers are mounted in a vented enclosure that was designed specially to withstand the rigors and the stage and the road. Yet for all its power, the Peavey SP218BX Subwoofer remains easily transportable, and will quickly become one of the most dependable pieces of gear in your rig.

Custom Speaker Design From Peavey

The dual speakers in the Peavey SP218BX are 18-inch Pro Rider Black Widows with a 4-inch voice coil, built with edge-wound aluminum wire and a Kevlar composite cone. They are constructed from titanium and utilize ferrofluid cooling to ensure reliable performance. These speakers deliver unbelievably articulate bass definition, even at their highest output, but always remain cooler and cleaner than most other speakers this size due to their unique design.

Exceptionally Helpful Interface

On the rear of the Peavey SP218BX subwoofer you'll find 2 x 1/4-inch jacks, 1 x four-pin twist lock connector, and 1 x Neutrik Speakon switching jack. The nominal impedance on the enclosure input is adjustable, allowing the SP218BX to integrate with a wide variety of full-range systems. The default input is 4 ohms with both drivers in parallel, when using the parallel inputs. A dual-woofer 2 x 8 read more ohm configuration is available through the switching Neutrik jack, which disconnects the 4 ohm inputs and provides separate inputs to the woofers when used.

Dramatically Reconsidered Waveguide

The Peavey SP218BX sub features a completely unique asymmetrical Quadratic Throat Waveguide technology that uses a fully proprietary horn design to eliminate the distortion caused by loudspeaker horns pushing high sound pressure levels (SPLs).

Built To Last

Just recently purchased two of these cabinets. I have a Crown 6002xti to push them, I was very impressed with the low end that comes out of these bad boys!!. Love how Peavey put wheels on them for easy transport. JBL makes a great dual 18 cab also, but why spend all that money when you can get the same results with the Peavey's
