Product Description

The Peavey Penta is a single-channel tube amplifier with five totally different personalities, courtesy its five selectable EQ/gain voicings.

The Penta amplifier combines four matched EL34 tubes with four 12AX7 tubes and features ceramic tube sockets, custom transformers, ultra-high quality components and 140 watts into 16, 8 or 4 ohms. A product of extensive tube amplifier engineering, the Penta is a completely straightforward, classic guitar amp. Correction: five guitar amps.

Using 100% analog Pentatone circuitry, this uniquely Peavey amplifier gives the guitar-playing world its take on five classic gain voicings on a single amp channel. These sounds are identified by corresponding icons and are accessible by a rotary knob. No fancy footswitches allowed, and no shimmering effects included'the Penta is for true plug & play guitar fanatics.

The Penta's "Star" icon reveals a classic British plexi voicing, while the "Bull" icon produces a modified British voicing with tons of added gain and a tighter low end. The "Tree" icon lays on a thicker British voicing with a loose attack and slightly more gain, while the "Mudflap Girl" setting is a super-high gain voicing with a more responsive EQ and power amp section'think Triple XXX. The "Cactus" setting is, simply put, fat and clean.

Sound: SIMPLE! Very easy to use! ANY and I mean ANY sound can be made from this amp from Fender clean to Marshall roar and ANYTHING in between! I shall NEVER let this one go! Feature: Very few features but OUTSTANDING SOUND! Ease of Use: Very EASY! Just turn the knob for five different analog voicing! VERY QUIET with no noise even at LOUD VOLUME! SILENT! Quality: Look inside and you shall see nothing but QUALITY! This is a TANK! Value: I would have paid more for this and still been happy! A LOT MORE! Manufacturer Support: Peavey is American made and has always made QUALITY!

"Peavey has done a remarkable job with their Penta Tube Guitar Amplifier"
Overall: I have owned quite a few guitar amplifiers in the over 35 years that I have been playing guitar and I can honestly say, the Peavey Penta is the best guitar amp that I have ever owned or used. It's extremely well made, no hum or buzz and it's a very superb sounding guitar amp. I really do like it a lot. I have owned it close to a year now and it's one of the best buys that I have made in a very long time.
