The Peavey Penta is a single-channel tube amplifier with five totally different personalities, courtesy its five selectable EQ/gain voicings.

The Penta amplifier combines four matched EL34 tubes with four 12AX7 tubes and features ceramic tube sockets, custom transformers, ultra-high quality components and 140 watts into 16, 8 or 4 ohms. A product of extensive tube amplifier engineering, the Penta is a completely straightforward, classic guitar amp. Correction: five guitar amps.

Using 100% analog Pentatone circuitry, this uniquely Peavey amplifier gives the guitar-playing world its take on five classic gain voicings on a single amp channel. These sounds are identified by corresponding icons and are accessible by a rotary knob. No fancy footswitches allowed, and no shimmering effects included'the Penta is for true plug & play guitar fanatics.

The Penta's "Star" icon reveals a classic British plexi voicing, while the "Bull" icon produces a modified British voicing with tons of added gain and a tighter low end. The "Tree" icon lays on a thicker British voicing with a loose attack and slightly more gain, while the "Mudflap Girl" setting is a super-high gain voicing with a more responsive EQ and power amp section'think Triple XXX. The "Cactus" setting is, simply put, fat and clean.

Superbly built. And it looks great.

Value:
Superb high quality components are used throughout in the Peavey Penta.

Desirability:
Superb "signal to noise ratio", 140 Watts of power, very good looking Amplifier and I'm able to get multiple sounds off of it.

Sound:
It is the best Guitar Amp that I have ever owned. Very well built and superb sounding.

Ease of Use:
Very easy to use.

Support:
Very friendly and extremely concerned about Customer Satisfaction.

Overall:
I chose the Peavey Penta because of many reasons. I'm able to get extremely clean sound from it. I can also get a "heavy metal" sound from it and everything in between and it is extremely well built. I'm confident that this amp will last for many, many years.

"Peavey Penta with Penta half stack is the best sounding setup I have ever owned!"
Feature:
I love it as-is.

Quality:
It extremely well made and it's working superbly. I need to use it for a few years before we can talk about reliability. No blemishes are on it. Superb parts are used throughout so I expect it to last many years.

Value:
The Peavey Penta is worth every penny it cost. I presently also own a Fender Dual Showman 100 Watt Tube Amp and the Peavey Penta puts it to shame.

Desirability:
I really like the way it looks. When I first heard that the vinyl covering was green, I sad ...oh no! BUT, it looks great. It's a nice looking dark green and the Peavey Penta half stack also looks great.

Sound:
I am able to get many superb sounds from it. I am very impressed with the sound quality.

Ease of Use:
It's one of the easiest Amps to use. And the sound quality is very deepthful. The manual just consist of a few pages but this amp does not need an extensive manual.

Support:
Peavey has superb support and I called them, with a few questions, before I purchased their Penta and Peavey has always given superb support. This is the second Peavey Amp that I bought from Peavey.

Overall:
At the present time, I love the Peavey Penta and Penta half stack as-is. I expect to have this for many years and if it were stolen, I would reorder the Peavey Penta and the Penta half stack. The quality of the "sounds" that the Penta produces is what I really love about this amp. I am enjoying this amp so much that I'm playing guitar much longer per day now.
