The Peavey MAX(r) 126 is Peavey's most compact and affordable bass amp and features their exclusive TransTube(r) circuitry. The MAX 126 has a selectable Vintage gain control that allows you to change the tone from modern sounding to vintage. With 10 watts of power and a Peavey 6 1/2 in. speaker, this makes the perfect bedroom amp. For your convenience they've added a headphone output, CD input and low and high EQ controls.

"A Great and Cheap Beginner's Amp!"

Sound: It's actually not bad, just a tad fuzzy. At full volume in a small room, it could hurt your ears in the slightest degree. Feature: The tape/CD slot helped me use it as a PA for my mixer/turntables. I can play bass to my records. The vintage on the amp is useful, if you want distortion that is. I'd guess if you want to save money with this amp you wouldn't want to spend money on a distortion effect. I used the headphone jack about once. I can play my electric guitar with it as well. So it serves me well as my only amp but being the source of my guitar, bass, and mixer! Ease of Use: It's a simple amp, only wish it was easier to switch the vintage on/off while playing. Quality: I used this amp quite regularly, and under the beating it took with me it lasted a good 8 months before the imput jack stopped working, however i still use the tape/cd slot for my bass, guitar, and mixer! The sound is almost half and the vintage doesn't work, but hey all everything breaks eventually. Value: It's a cheap amp, but a good one to practice on, a good one to start out on. You get what you pay for with it. Now I'm at the point where I'm good enough, committed enough, and addicted enough to make an investment in a better amp. Manufacturer Support: Haven't dealt with them. The Wow Factor: When i first got it I was blown out of my mind, now i feel like its just another cheap amp. Overall: It's absolutely great for $60, considering the amount I've used it, several hours a day/each day for the past 8 months, i've even made a few songs recording with it. It gets the job done with a cheap price.

"Great for practice"

Overall: I keep this by the laptop so I can practice along. Like the other review said, the sound is fuzzy. Even turned all the up, it's not super loud. Not much bottom end with a 6 & 1/2 in speaker. The sound really isn't that great but you can tell if you're playing the right note or not. You could use it with an electric guitar too if you wanted. The vintage channel is pretty useless to me. It suits me fine for something lightweight to use for practice.

Style of Music: A little bit of everything.
