"Get more than what you pay for, these days."

Feature:
It doesn't use the high quality veneer for the body, but a cheaper plywood type. But I wasn't looking for a financial investment, I was looking for an affordable, good sounding guitar. And this is it!

Quality:
Besides the cold solder joint that was on one of the wires, I have had no complaints at all. At first I thought that maybe too much was put into the cosmetics of it. (It almost looked too perfect) Leaving the mechanical/electronic end of it short changed. But after a year, it still looks great(The finish isn't easily blemished) And after having it fine-tuned a bit, it sounds, and plays better than before.

Value:
Like I mentioned before, If you are looking for an investment, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for something for practical everyday use, this is what you're looking for.

Desirability:
People are awe-struck at the beauty and sound of it.

Sound:
It has the full tonal quality I was looking for. It does sound a little muddy on the bass end, but can work around it with different amp/effects settings.

Support:
It did have the loose/cold soldered wire issue. I called the shop, explained it to them, took it in, and in two weeks got it back, repaired plus their own fine tuning job. I was extremely happy. They did what they needed to do, plus a little more.

Overall:
I wanted a guitar the could give me the full body sound, almost like an acoustic. (Some of the early Beatles, Rolling Stones) While being able to give a nice creamy sustain, with a little crunch from a pre-amp.

"Love at first sight!"

Feature:
The volume and tone controls look a bit cheap but nothing that can't be fixed with some replacements.

Quality:
I said the volume and tone controls looked cheap and that's a shame for the guitar with it's gold fittings is utterly beautiful otherwise. It's extremely well made and the finish outstanding and I reckon it could easily stand on it's own against the more expensive guitars of this type. I see no reason why it couldn't be used regularly at gigs but depending on your taste in music.

Value:
The guitar is a steal at $300!!

Desirability:
I had almost despaired after shopping around for similar instruments in this price range, but when I saw the JF 1 in black it was love at first sight!! Can't say more that that. (Change the style of volume and tone controls please!!)

Sound:
It doesn't sound too great on it's own but plugged into an amp it takes on a whole new meaning. If you've been playing only solid guitar like I have then the wider neck takes a bit of getting used to, but if you are looking for a completely different sound then you can't go wrong at the price. It has a deep rich tone - even with factory strings. A set of Gibsons's should enhance it even more but I have no plans to change them at the moment.

Support:
Haven't needed to use the support site yet but if the instrument is representative of Peavey quality then I see no problems.

Overall:
After playing off and on for over forty years this is the last one for me - at least so my wife tells me.........
