Peavey IPR2 7500 Power Amplifier

Leave it to Peavey to build an insane, 3750-watts-RMS-per-channel power amp, complete with DDT speaker protection, in a package weighing under 15 pounds. Note: Due to its high wattage capacity, this power amp requires a 20 Amp outlet.

Peavey continues to be ahead of the game as an innovator in the world of power amplifiers with the IPR2 7500. Durable, efficient, powerful, compact -- this bad boy powers your passive PA handily with its high-speed IPR class D topology, lightweight aluminum chassis, thermal efficiency, and two channel independent fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley crossovers. Need a lot of power? This amp pushes 2022 watts RMS stereo at 4 ohms and 1250 watts RMS stereo at 8 ohms. Or run it in mono for 2400 watts RMS at 4 ohms or 1330 watts RMS at 8 ohms.

This compact beast also hosts DDT speaker protection, secure four pole twist lock output connectors, and a resourceful resonant switch mode power supply. You'll get a hearty helping of power and efficiency and all-around utility when you install the Peavey IPR2 7500 in your live sound rack.

Top-Class Audio Resolution and Thermal Efficiency

Your IPR2 7500 boasts an IPR class D topology for your signal. You really can't find better, higher audio resolution for whatever signal it is that you're pumping through this monster. The resonant switch mode power supply allows your IPR2 7500 to be compact and thermally efficient -- no need for massive heat sinks to keep this baby cool.

DDT Speaker Protection On Board

The most powerful amp in Peavey's IPR line, the IPR2 7500 will give you enough power for almost any speaker. You can get 3,750 watts for impedances as low as 2 ohms. DDT clip-limiting protection will quell any worries you might have of too read more much power causing any unwanted speaker distortion. On the front panel, you'll find LEDs indicating Active and Signal during normal operation. When the amp is reducing gain to prevent clipping, you'll see the DDT light come on. In the unlikely event of unstable thermal conditions, you may see the Temp or DC lights come on to indicate the amp is shutting down the offending channel as a protection measure.

Lightweight, Compact, and Durable

You'll struggle to find any other power amp that boasts so much wattage at such a small size and so light in weight. Your IPR2 7500 weighs in at 14.57 pounds, and inside its durable aluminum chassis you'll place warranted faith in components that operate together like an unstoppable workhorse at a surprisingly low temperature.

Peavey IPR2 7500 Power Amplifier

The Peavey IPR2 7500 boasts 3,750 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms and is under 15 lbs. Featuring 2 channel independent fourth order Linkwitz-Riley crossovers, a variable-speed fan housed in a lightweight aluminum chassis, DDT speaker protection, and the revolutionary IPR class D topology.

Shaking up the pro audio industry with innovative power amplifier designs has become Peavey's trademark. More than 30 years ago, they were the first to break the $1-per-watt barrier. Now with the Peavey IPR Series, they've pushed technological limits again to bring you an amazingly powerful and efficient power amp for just pennies per watt.

The groundbreaking IPR Series utilizes an advanced design that allows their engineers to dramatically reduce weight while increasing output power, reliability and thermal efficiency. IPR Series amplifiers are designed with a resonant switch-mode power supply and a high-speed class D topology that yields the highest audio resolution and efficiency available. And all at a cost that shatters the old-guard paradigm of power-amp valuation.

I bought this amp 5 months ago but didnt actually turn it on til 4 months later and come to find out i had a defective amp one channel would indicate signal light and the other channel would indicate active light without having anything plugged in or out just power cable. Obviously my 45 days were up with zzounds so i had to send it to peavey for warranty repair. I sent the amp and three weeks later i received it back working 100% and im just amazed of how much power this thing puts out. You need to buy an adapter if you dont have a 20 amp outlet in your home. You can safely run this amp 4 ohms on a 15 amp breaker but not 2 ohms on a 15 amp breaker you need a 20 amp breaker for 2 ohm load. I had this amp playing for 6 hours and it didnt heat up one bit stayed very cool. I highly recommend this amp.
