As the newest model in a totally new generation of tuners, Peterson introduces the "VS-II Virtual Strobe Tuner", a compact, battery-powered tuner with unprecedented bang-for-the-buck features. It boasts an accuracy of an astounding 0.1 cent, more than 20 times as accurate as current LED/needle display tuners, thanks to its real-time high definition TV-style graphic strobe display.

The VS-II features a fully adjustable Concert A reference, cent offset (programmable to 0.1 cent!) , a neat drop-tune and capo tuning assistant called FTS (Fret Transposition System), and comes with tempered tuning presets, some of which have never before been included in a tuner. Fans of the preceding VS-1 Virtual Strobe will be familiar with the GTR temperament, which sweetens a guitars tuning, the VS-II adds 'BAS' which does the same for basses, and for the first time ever, E9 and C6 tempered presets for pedal steel and lap steel guitar.

The "Bass Shift" feature allows effortless tuning of acoustic or electric bass up to two octaves below a normally tuned low B on a 5 string instrument. The VS-II is also programmable; there are two user programmable temperaments, which can be used to store preferred offsets in cents for instruments outfitted with the Buzz Feiten Tuning System or any other custom tunings.

The VS-II naturally contains the revolutionary (patented) Virtual Strobe Technology first introduced in the VS-1 tuner plus a new, brighter, high-contrast display and full user programmability. This tuner is also perfect for setting up intonation on guitars and basses, and will make its own price back in saved tech charges.

To top it all off, the included DC adapter is the sleek "smart power" type and works anywhere in the world regardless of voltage standards!

Peterson VSII Virtual Strobe Tuner Reviews

17 People rated this product :
           6 out of 10
           10 out of 10
"Works as advertised"
Feature:
Incredible accuracy, and more features than I need. After using this, I can't imagine trying to tune, let alone intonate, a guitar with anything less.

Quality:
Seems sturdy enough.

Value:
Not cheap, but worth it.

Desirability:
It's not sexy, it's blue, but I don't care.

Sound:
I'm not sure if it's true bypass, so I try to keep it out of my signal chain.

Overall:
If you're thinking of getting a tuner, if you can afford it, skip the cheap tuners. If you're looking at the $90 Korgs, skip them, and go straight to the Peterson.
