Had time to work with the combo and put it through ts paces. It is a very well built amp. The effects loop is extremely quiet. The amp itself is very quiet assuming you use quality cables. I have to say the dirty channel is VERY limited. Its all or nothing if its on its on all the way. You get heavy saturated distorted sound. at full gain or hardly any gain its sounds exactly the same so to me that channel is useless. I use Hartman LM 308 op-amp distortion on the clean channel so I can adjust the over drive levels. The clean channel is very nice but it does break up a little bit. You don't get incredible clean tones but I find the tones to be more than adequate for my type of playing. We are playing electrics after all so I kind of like a little grit. For a 30 amp 12 inch speaker it is plenty loud for small clubs. Larger venues you run it through the FOH system anyway and I don't like an excessively loud stage volume. Since I use three different amps on stage each has its purpose and this is a very well built great sounding amp. I love that it doesnt sound like any other amp. It's not vintage its not modern it has a sound that is all its own and identifiable as soon as you hear it. Despite a couple draw backs I use this amp all the time and really would recommend it to anyone who doesnt want to sound like everyone else. Now that its broken in its my go to amp. The 12 inch speaker is specially voiced at 16 OMHS so it sounds much bigger than it is. It has a decent reverb but I read more use a Ghost Echo most of the time. You may want to put it on a dolly it weighs 1400 LBS after a gig but that is a tribute to how well its put together.(it feels like that maybe I stretched the truth on the weight thing I must be getting old) For the price I'd buy it again and I m because I'm running in stereo so I'm picking up another one. If you have good pedals this is the amp you want. I get a of questions and compliments about it from other performers and spectators as well. For the $ you can't beat it. I find the SE to sound every bit as good as its Maryland H series counter part Buy it. Take the time to really use it , experiment with it,I love it. Minor warts and all. The good FAR out weighs the issues I mentioned If you ant your own signature sound this amp is a great place to start.
