You'll find selectable 4/8/16 ohm outputs; dual three-band EQ controls; depth, presence, master clean, and master lead controls; and a sleek stealth/charcoal burst covering. And at only 43 pounds, this head won't break your back. Fire up your signal with this slick-looking and pristine-sounding tone monster, and see just how hot your licks can get.

Check out how versatile the PRS Archon is:

Two Channels of All-Tube Tone

Your PRS Archon guitar amp head hosts a clean and a lead channel. Your clean channel provides a powerful and well-articulated signal to blast through your speaker cab, and your lead channel brings the high-gain output essential for stage-conquering tones and wailing leads. Sets of 6L6GC power and 12AX7 preamp tubes fuel your signal with assured, full-bodied, and warm color you'd expect from such a beastly machine.

Dual Three-Band EQ Controls

To fine-tune your sound, this powerful head features three-band EQ controls for each channel, so switching between settings will be as smooth and seamless as can be. In addition, this baby also features independent clean and lead volume controls as well as depth and presence knobs. Presence helps work a bit more bite into your signal, and depth will focus on delivering more read more low end to your cab.

Flexible Power and Output Settings

A nice little feature on this baddie is the option of using 100 watts or 50 watts of power for your signal. If you really want to steal the stage, or if you want to bring in the color and warmth that comes with the usage of a lower wattage for a smaller setting, this baby will have you covered. No matter far you push this head, your tone will retain its remarkable clarity and spotless articulation.

Switchable 4/8/16 Ohm Output

The PRS Archon head gives out the option of 4/8/16 ohm settings, which makes working with virtually any type of rig a possibility. Plug your axe into this lean and mean machine, pair it up with just about any cabinet of your choice, and you'll have a rig ready for serious sonic domination.

You will not be disappointed. I was a sceptic given that PRS and bone crushing 100watt amps don't seem like something that would go together. I purchased it while keeping my fingers crossed that all the reviews and videos you can find online were not just marketing hype. I can tell you right now it is everything that the hype says it is. Seriously good in every way. The controls are extremely simple and ultra responsive. The cleans are insanely clean with headroom that is through the roof. If you play extreme metal with mountains of gain this may be the amp for you. Even with ludicrous amounts of gain dialed in it stays clear and articulate without turning into a compressed fizzy mess. It is lacking in the "features" department compared to the direction some other manufacturers have been going. I feel that is a positive thing though. It has all the good things you want and need. None of the useless junk that you don't. Very straightforward to use and get killer tones from. If you are looking for an amp that requires more knob turning and button pushing than launching a space shuttle, this isn't the amp for you. If you play metal or hard rock and are already shopping for amps in this price range, do yourself a favor and at least take the Archon for a test drive first.
