What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Maple top Long sustain with crisp, bright tone
Mahogany back Dry and airy tone; clear, present midrange
Maple neck Bright tone, full sustain and strength
Rosewood fretboard Open, warm tone and smooth playing feel

Built with a longer 27.7" scale length, the PRS Paul Reed Smith SE 277 Baritone is perfect for heavier, more aggressive guitar playing. But this is no one trick pony. The 277's 85/15 "S" were designed to deliver remarkable clarity and extended high and low end, allowing the 277 to handle blues and funk with flair as well. Additional appointments include a string-through bridge design for strong, resonant tone. So whether you're interested in rocking a clean tone, picking bass lines beneath higher melodies on one guitar, or chugging out the heaviest drop-tuned riffs, the SE 277 offers versatility in a reliable package for players looking to push the envelope. Ships tuned B to B.

The first thing one will notice when laying their eyes upon this guitar is how amazing it looks. The quality in the craftsmanship and the feel of the instrument meets any standard one would expect from a high quality instrument. The guitar is very responsive. Both to your touch and its controls. Using the volume and tone knobs allows for a variety of sounds as does the addition of the coil-splitting feature. The baritone cleans up well. Being someone who only plays on an overdriven channel and adjusts my gain level via the Volume knob to achieve different tone's whether they be clean or overdriven, it was important to me that this guitar cleans up well when rolling the volume knob back without losing overall volume. It's worth mentioning that this Baritone is excellent for slide as well. It also came with a nice gig-bag which is good enough to carry it around, wherever that may be. An excellent product.
