Ovation's new Pinnacle Series achieves new heights in quality and value. The AA grade solid Sitka Spruce top joins with a Lyrachord body to create a powerful tone you only get from an Ovation. A dark rosewood fingerboard is matched to a two-piece mahogany neck with a natural satin finish. Rich, bright and super quiet, the OP30 raises the bar in its class. Three bands of EQ plus the ability to shift the mid band to either a 450Hz or 970Hz gives you complete control over your sound. There's also a Pre-Shape circuit that not only lifts the bass and treble, but also reduces "rumble" from frequencies below 40Hz. And of course there's an on-board chromatic tuner. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Ovation products.

Sound: I do not think that the sound quality of the Ovation CU247 can be improved upon. The early seventies Ovations are the Standard for comparison by every major Guitar maker including CF Martin, Gibson, Guild of which I have owned. The sound for the price is unbeatable. Feature: The onboard tuner on th CU247 Ovation is fantastic to say the least. Controls of the EQ are easy to use and offer a wide range of control. The combination of components works very well for me, and the easily adjusted EQ is great during performances. Quality: Nothing needs to be said about Ovation Guitars durability. Value: Truly a best value in mid to upper price range guitars. Manufacturer Support: No dealings yet don't expect any. The Wow Factor: The CU247 was a replacement due to theft situation. I was drawn to it with many others in site, just couldn't take my eyes away. Love at first sight I guess. The appeal is that you HAVE TO HOLD AND PLAY IT 24/7. The appeal rapidly turns to "ADDICTION" before you relize it, and thats what has happened to me! Overall: It is a replacement as mentioned. I have had a lot of guitars this ones a "Keeper". currently I have two Gibsons, a Les Paul / and a early Rockbass. A Aria Bass accoustic/electric And my new CU247 Ovation. I have had and played CF Martin D-28, 1957 Les Paul Goldtop, Guild 512 series 12 string, Gibson Humming bird jumbo concert, Gibson Viola Bass (ala Paul McCartney)and many others. The CU247 Replaces a 1972 Ovation Custom Balladier

"stunning sound and finish"

Sound: It has an awesome bright and crispy sound, but still with a surprising amount of "body" - even without pluggin it in. Plugged in, it openes yet another world of great sound. Feature: the builtin tuner is brilliant, and super easy to use. Ease of Use: it has a great feel to it. It is my first Ovation, and I'm amazed at the amount of vibration you get into your body - very nice. Quality: Have only owned it for 2 months, but for now it cetainly feels excellent, - nothing substancial to improve on. I wish the tuner could be turned off manually, rather than having to wait for it to auto-shutoff though. The factory fitted strings went dead quite quickly, but I always expect that and soon change to my own preference anyway. Value: with a price around 450 USD I can only sum it up in one word: stunning! Manufacturer Support: have not needed any. The Wow Factor: the finish is wonderful, and everyone I have showed it to, wants one too. Overall: I cannot point at any guitar in this pricerange with these qualities.
