Overview
Ovation's CC series Paduak guitar (CC48PD) offers pro features and sonic bliss to players looking for value. The color palette of African Paduak ranges from crimson red to dark reddish-brown. Interlocking wood grains produces a striped look. The unique appearance of the top combines perfectly with the earthy tones of its exotic hardwood epaulets. The CC48-PD also features a super shallow body, rosewood fingerboard, gold hardware, and Ovation's own OP4BT preamp with on-board tuner.

This is my second ovation purchase and it did not disappoint. Its pickup sound quality matches that of my model 1615. The narrow rounded neck with jumbo frets was as nice to play on as my gibson MM; especially when I replaced the strings with a lighter guage of electic strings while the tension rod adjustments were "seasoned" in. Now the neck action is perfect for my playing style of R&B. This guitar was in competition with the Epi dot type semi-hollows; but I like what I got esp. at a Boxing day slashout price. I've read the other review and agree with his comments - my only advise - dont play an OV without a strap.
