Orange SP212 Compact Bass Speaker Cabinet (600 Watts, 2x12")

No longer available at zZounds
Bring powerful bass tone anywhere you go with this compact, 600 watt cabinet from Orange. It's a great solution for gigging bassists.

The revolutionary Orange SP212 is a portable yet extremely powerful bass cabinet. All SmartPower (SP) models feature a ported Isobaric cabinet design and use light-weight Neodymium speakers.

Both speakers in the SP212 are front-facing, one behind the other. The space between the front speaker's magnet and the rear speaker's cone is airtight, ensuring that both speakers vibrate in conjunction with one another, thus keeping them in phase.

They may be small, but SmartPower bass cabs sound huge.

I'll start by saying it took me a bit to decide if this is the way I wanted to go...and so far I am extremely glad I did! I am running two of these SP212s to a BT 1000 and despite what some have said about the isobaric design being old and outdated, I couldn't be happier. I needed to trim down my rig- I have been using this BT1000 (as well as an SVT CL) thru both an Aguilar GS412 and an SVT 810E. I was very satisfied with both (who wouldn't be?!) but since I picked up the BT 1000 about six months ago, I was craving matching cabs as well as something a bit less cumbersome to move. I almost went 1 OBC15 and 1 SP212 but decided to keep it the same. I've yet to had to turn this setup past 3 for volume and gain- alright I sneaked the gain to 4 one time... and these cabs mesh with this amp head perfectly. Booming lows, gritty mids...it's all there but you will need to spend some time with it to adjust to your style and type of bass (I primarily use an Ibanez SR5000E because I love the neck mainly) and I am getting a variety of sounds that are to die for! FYI, I am playing various music from rock to soul, country, pop...just about everything excluding slapping styles, with a heavy handed guitarist, drummer and keyboardist. If you're on the fence about these cabs, get off of it and take the plunge! Kudos to Zzounds and their pay as you play plan!
