Native Instruments Traktor Pro DJ Software (Macintosh and Windows)

Feature:
Missing quite a few of the features of traktor 3- like the native mix recorder. Lots of things don't quite work yet. The software has huge potential, but is not yet ready for serious use.

Quality:
Shaky, beta-quality at best, right now (1.02). The Audio 8 DJ is pretty solid, though,

Value:
It's probably in the right ballpark, if only it all worked, it would be great.

Desirability:
Yeah, traktor has a great history, it sounds cool on paper.

Sound:
Pro is still buggy, the key correct produces much worse artifacting than traktor 3, even. It has issues with the tempo detection being broken, and several other features not working as well as they used to in 3. NI have recently released a patch to correct the most obvious bugs (the DRM kicking in on legit copies and locking the user out mid-set most notably), but there are still many many outstanding issues with it until it's suitable for live work. Stick with 3 for now.

Ease of Use:
Designed to be friendly and powerful, the software is interesting but buggy, the manual is patchy and wrong in places. The software will be easier to use when it works closer to "properly", mind you.

Support:
Slow, unresponsive support. They ignore a lot of queries, getting any response took five attempts to contact them.

Overall:
A lot of folks will be using Traktor 3 or Serato Scratch rather than pro right now, as they actually work.

Feature:
the effects are sick ya'll,i mean i've been a traktor user from version 2 but this pro fx are just....i can't describe,you have to play with them then you'll know why it's called traktor pro not traktor 4

i have to give it 10 here too cause traktor has just left the competition in the dust.forget serato guys,if you wanna be pro this will make sure you get there fast or stay ahead of the game.

Value:
the value of traktor pro i'd say is under priced.like i said,this will ease your job of creativity,syncs don't get hectic like before,u can lock up yr syced tracks,the fx alone saves you tons on say a mixer that has similar functions but for thousands of dollars or euros or whatever currency you use.

Desirability:
if you don't have traktor,you may still be good or better but you'll have to work much harder to do what you want out there,as a digital Dj,i love it when i focus more on creativity than trying to make things work here and there. therefore if you wanna be good or better than the other guys,try other stuff out there like pcdj,serato and all the other wanna be's. The best guys are using traktor pro. native instruments started the digital revolution with stanton back in the day,others followed but they'll never catch up. i'm using it this weekend in the club,very very reliable and people are already saying wow!!!

Sound:
perfect sound either with audio 8 sound card or not.this is amazing

Ease of Use:
if you have used traktor before a few things change here but for the best.but all in all userbility is much much better than before.

Support:
support is not perfect but way better than the other guys...

Overall:
i'm done...this program speaks for it's self...the best in german technology.use with audio 8 for streamlined performance...i know it to be a realiable sound card especially for windows xp sp2 and 3 and for mac osx 10.5.x and above.i wouldn't recommend vista...and yes always turn off your wifi on the laptop and run msconfig to stop un necessary programs from running in the background while you perform.
