Feature:
There's some great stuff here. I would have liked a few more built-in effects (A better distortion for one), but it's easy enough to do that stuff through a seperate editor (On the plus side, you can have Kontakt link itself to any other 3rd party editor. On the downside, you need to already own something that's better than kontakt. heh)
Quality:
I've never had Kontakt crash, I've never had it do anything out of the ordinary. It's worked fine on my computer from day one (Currently running a 3 Ghz Dual proc Dimension 4700, 2.5 gigs of RAM, Delta 1010 soundcard) The only real resource hog is the Convolution effect (A great-sounding but complicated reverb), which knocks my cpu out after only a few instances.
Value:
Value is incredible. I paid an educational price for my version ($180), but considering what I've done with it so far, it would have been worth far far more than that.
Desirability:
I'm in love, what can I say. It's not perfect, but it's close. (The 15 Gig sample library it comes with is nothing to be sneezed at either. Nothing too fantastic, but commendable.
Sound:
Sound quality is incredibly good if you can put the effort into molding it. I've turned random self-recorded samples into amazing instruments, it just takes a bit of work.
Ease of Use:
Easy to start messing around with. An incredibly intuitive interface (for a softsynth sampler) but there's still a lot of layers to go through. If you really want to do anything amazing with this, read the manual or go check out the forums.
Support:
I say 6 only because I've never had to deal with them...

Feature:
I love the import functionality, I was able to easily import my Akai sample CDs and keep them in my database. There are tons and tons of things this thing can do, but the routing seems confusing sometimes.
Quality:
No other soft sampler sounds nearly as good.
Value:
Pretty good price, just wish the tutorial was free with it.
Desirability:
I wasn't so sure that I wanted it till I got it and found out how much more editing I could get done in a short amount of time.
Sound:
Out of all the other soft samplers I've used I'd say what makes this best is how good it sounds stretching or compressing samples. Using the Time Machine 2 mode I'm able to get great results and then modify it live for instant granular fun.
Ease of Use:
Once you learn the workflow in Kontakt it's really easy to get in and edit one or multiple samples I'd definitely recommend getting the tutorial to get you up and running.
Support:
I had to move Kontakt from my old laptop to my new one and I was able to have it all taken care of in a reasonable amount of time, but what was great was that I got some good suggestions for working with Kontakt.
Overall:
What else do I need for software sampling? Nothing I think.
