Experience legendary Neumann sound from your near-field studio monitors. These powered speakers deliver accurate sound in a surprisingly small package.

The Neumann KH-120 is an innovative powered monitor designed by one of the world's most legendary audio design companies. Available as the KH-120A with analog XLR input, the monitor is a 2-way near-field powered design, splitting 100 watts between the 5.25-inch low-frequency driver and a 1-inch high-frequency driver. It boasts excellently integrated wide range input gain, as well as output level controls, to make it maximally versatile with interfacing with various audio sources. The KH-120 is designed for use as a near-field studio monitor, or as a rear loudspeaker in a larger multi-channel systems. Designed by some of the world's greatest audio engineers, these Neumann studio monitors are manufactured to deliver supreme consistency from one unit to the next, assuring that every single KH-120 will pair-match perfectly with another KH-120.

KH-120A: The "A" stands for Analog

The Neumann KH-120A includes a single balanced analog XLR input.

Great Speakers in a Great Cabinet

The Neumann KH-120 boasts a powerful 5.25-inch low-frequency driver behind a titanium fabric dome to deliver incomparable low-end audio image rendering. In perfect balance with woofer, the 1-inch HF driver is loaded into Neumann's proprietary Mathematically Modeled Dispersion waveguide, made to deliver smoother off-axis response in more diverse acoustical environments. In plain English, that means these monitors have a wide "sweet spot." Overall, the KH-120 delivers an impressive frequency response of 54 read more Hz - 20 kHz and a peak sound pressure level of 97 dB.

Proprietary Amp Design

The audiophile-grade amplifier on your Neumann KH-120 is an class-AB amp that delivers maximal headroom. Its transient response is exceptional, delivering more accurate high end than most other powered studio loudspeakers on the market. The Neumann KH-120's amp is housed in an all-aluminum case that dissipates heat buildup easily, and ensures durability and long life.

Adjustable to Varied Environments

The Neumann KH-120 comes with a few adjustable features onboard that make it usable in variety of different acoustic environments. To begin, there is a 4-position bass, low-mid and treble EQ control that allows you to adapt to the sound of differing rooms and studios. On the back of the speaker, you'll also find wide-range input gain and output level controls to ensure the correct balance of signal from varied sources. A Ground lift switch is included to eliminate ground noise when it arises.

Neumann KH 120A Active Studio Monitor

The KH 120 is the first product in the line of Neumann Studio Monitors. Neumann is well-known in the audio industry for its high quality microphones in studios, broadcast, and on stage. Neumann has also been a pioneer in the audio industry for over 80 years with a long history of world-class products. These products have kept Neumann on the cutting edge of technology - from mixing consoles and disc cutting lathes, to more recent innovations in digital technology with the Solution-D system.

The KH 120 studio monitor is designed for use as a near-field loudspeaker or as a rear loudspeaker in larger multi-channel systems. The KH 120 represents the quality musicians and engineers expect in acoustic and electronic simulation and measurement technologies. It has a Mathematically Modeled Dispersion waveguide, flexible acoustical controls, analog class-AB amplifiers, various input formats and an extensive mounting hardware range. All of this provides the user with the maximum versatility over a wide variety of acoustic conditions, source equipment, and physical locations. A subwoofer, such as the Neumann KH-810, with its 7.1 High Definition Bass Manager, can be added to deepen the low-frequency response to 18 Hz and increase the system's maximum output level. The KH-120 is perfect for tracking, mixing and mastering in music, broadcast, project and post-production studios.

Features:

"BEST STUDIO PURCHASE IN YEARS!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I own a professional recording facility and had some pretty decent studio monitors from the likes of Tannoy, Mackie, and Event...BUT I found myself most often listening to mixes elsewhere and they just didn't seem to translate. I thought maybe it was just my mixing room (not boasting...but it's a great room) causing me to make several (sometimes seriously significant) revisions to mixes before I was happy listening to them in other "real" environments and finally sending them off for mastering. It was tough for me to make a decision to purchase nearfields that seemed to be very small with a fairly large price tag. But at the suggestion of a studio engineer buddy of mine, I bit the bullet and made the purchase. THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST STUDIO PURCHASE I HAVE MADE IN YEARS!! Immediately (I'm not freakin' kidding you), I could tell a tremendous difference in the sonic character of everything that was pouring from these small beauties...and instantly (I'm still not freakin' kidding you), my mixes were being nailed one time through. It was as if I had a brand new set of ears!! Neumann has usually been at the other end of things...input...not output. Let me just say that what he U87 has done for microphones, the KH120A will do for studio monitors. I have my KH120A's paired with a KRK 10s sub running through a Radial MC3 monitor controller. Just wanted to put all the facts out there. Make the purchase. Thank me later.

Sound
Sonically brilliant! read more Tight, focused lows & mids and pristine highs. These monitors reveal things in your mixes that you wouldn't have noticed before and allows you make corrections much more easily...even minor changes are obvious. A wonderful natural sound.

Features
Switches for EQ adustments and input sensitivity on rear. The glowing Neumann logo on the face of the monitor changes from white to red if you are pushing too much input into them...that's a great feature!

Ease of Use
Plug'em in and viola!!!

Quality
These things are built like a tank...seriously...an all metal housing and protective metal grille on woofers and tweeters. AND they looking stunningly amaz-za-zing!

Value
At twice the price, it would still be worth it.

Manufacturer Support
It's Neumann...come on.

The Wow Factor
It's Neumann. There is a legacy there. I give them a wow factor of "OMG!!!" I hear comments from bands all the time now like "I can't believe the sound that comes from those speakers." or "Dude...those monitors sound f#$%ing bada$$!!"
