Take control over Reason, Bitwig Studio and more with the Panorama P1. This intuitive MIDI controller gives you 9 faders and 16 knobs in a slim footprint.

The Nektar Panorama P1 USB MIDI control surface is customized from the ground up to give you deep integration with Bitwig Studio, Cubase, Logic Pro and Reason DAW software -- putting the spotlight on performance and creativity. Much more than just a generic MIDI controller, the P1's controls -- 16 knobs, nine 45mm faders, 10 assignable LED buttons, a footswitch socket, and more -- are pre-mapped or easily assignable to your DAW's functions. Nektar has harnessed Propellerhead's ReMote technology like no other control surface -- and the Panorama P1 packs all this power into an incredibly small footprint.

Big, bright, clear 3.5" color screen

The first thing you'll notice about the Panorama P1 is its large color screen. Press the buttons above the P1's 3.5" TFT display to toggle between views of your mixer, transport, or whatever software instrument you're using. Without this clear visual feedback, most MIDI controllers slow down your workflow -- keeping you looking back and forth from the controller to your computer screen. And screen real estate is always an issue for music production. But with the Nektar P1, you don't even need to have your Reason mixer onscreen. The P1's big, bright display gives you constant real-time feedback on which functions you're controlling and what your settings are.

Mix faster: Full channel strip control

With Reason and the P1 controller, you can adjust your mix at the same time as you're working with an instrument. Simply lock the fader bank read more to Reason's mixing console, and assign the knobs and buttons to whatever instrument you're controlling at the moment. And yes, you can even trigger QWERTY commands and macros with the press of a single button on the P1. Best of all, the P1 speeds up your workflow with complete control over your channel strip EQ, dynamics, inserts, sends and beyond. When it comes to streamlining your Reason workflow, the P1's tight channel strip control is the closest you can get to working on a real hardware console.

Nektar Panorama's smallest footprint

At just over 15" x 9" and under 2 inches tall, the Panorama P1 packs everything from the control surface portion of the full-size Panorama keyboards into a controller about the size and shape of a laptop. If you already have a MIDI keyboard in your Reason studio, then the ultra-compact P1 is perfect for you. If you're in the market for a great-feeling MIDI keyboard instrument, you'll want to get your hands on the larger Panorama keyboard controllers.

Nektar Panorama P1 USB MIDI Controller

The Nektar Panorama P1 is an incredible controller with the most intuitive workflow you have ever seen. Spectacular, deep Reason, Cubase and Bitwig Studio implementations -- along with vast MIDI programming options -- means you can focus on your music instead of the equipment. Set up your generic MIDI presets for instant recall when you need them or use Panorama P1 with Reason or Cubase for a completely integrated experience.

Power Of Control

The enormous controlling power of Panorama P1 is contained in a compact case about the size of a 17" laptop. An unrivalled amount of assignable controls makes Panorama the most comprehensive and fully featured MIDI controller around. 16 encoders, 9 45mm faders, 10 LED buttons, 28 buttons and a foot switch jack gives you immediate control of up to 61 parameters at any one time. Settings can be stored in 20 presets with individually save and loadable F-keys maps for more than 1200 combinations. The numbers may not matter but being in control does.

The Display Says It All

A crystal clear 3.5" color TFT display delivers the information you really need, for each mode or menu. Regardless of whether you are operating Cubase, Reason or programming MIDI assignments in Internal mode, the display provides detailed information that makes your workflow fluent and fast. Panorama takes the hard work out of using a controller and makes operations that seem complicated and non-transparent on other products, straight-forward and simple.

Midi Control - A Game Of Many Options!

Setting up presets or F-keys maps is easy on Panorama. The Control Edit menu enables you to quickly select a control and in real-time assign the MIDI command you want. For each control values can be scaled, reverse and assigned specific or global MIDI channels. The chart shows the programming options available for each type of control.

Transport When You Need It, Function Buttons When You Don't

It's hard to go places without transport so Panorama features an extended 11 button transport bar, positions right where you need it controlling: Return to L, Forward to R, Undo, Click on/off, Record Mode, Cycle on/off, Back, Forward, Stop, Play and Record. Using the shift button, these also double up as 11 function buttons each assignable to MIDI commands or QWERTY macro's.

Shortcut to Software Functions

So QWERTY macro's...big deal, right? That's right, its a VERY big deal. Your software has a ton of features and functions that can be activated using QWERTY shortcut commands. Assigning a command to a button so you don't have to be near your computer makes life a lot easier. Assigning a string of up to 8 commands takes it to another level. With this powerful feature you could for example enter edit mode, zoom in and select a tool with just one button press. Or create an instrument or effects track and locate a folder containing your presets so you can select them from Panorama, all with one button press and without looking at your computer.

Control Cubase, Nuendo, Reason, or Bitwig Studio Like Never Before

For Cubase, Nuendo and Reason users, Panorama is a dream come true. The dedicated communication protocol ties Panorama and your DAW tightly together so all you have to do is select the mode and menu you want to control. Panorama does the rest. Three modes allows you one button press to switch between controlling the Mixer, Instruments (VSTi or Devices) and Transport, with the 4th mode, Internal, still providing access to traditional MIDI control. The integration with Cubase, Nuendo and Reason is so deep that you can immerse yourself in your music without having to constantly reach for the mouse. Panorama gives you the creative freedom to just focus on your music.

Control ReWire Host and Slave in Real-Time

Reason ReWired to Cubase or Nuendo is a great experience with Panorama. Select which DAW you want to control straight from Panorama, in absolute real-time and regardless of what's in focus on your computer.

Compatible with:

With the addition of Reason's new features as a full-fledged DAW/synth working environment, the combination of Reason 7 and the Panorama P1 is incredibly powerful. The integration is straightforward, comprehensive, easy to use, and works exactly as advertised, transforming Reason into a direct, hardware-based experience yet with all the power of a modern day DAW and software synth workstation. The only weakness with the P1 right now is documentation... I had a few installation issues but my email inquiries to Nektar resolved the problem in a quick and friendly manner. I can't say enough about what Nektar has achieved with the Reason integration.. I've tried older solutions like Novation Automap and they are junk compared to this. I don't use Cubase but I assume the integration and performance is on the same level. Build quality is good, not top level like say a Mackie Control but everything feels solid enough with adequate resistance for knobs and faders. You can certainly do much worse at a $299 price point. The display is bright, sharp, and very clear. I hope Nektar is around for a long time, they really are nailing what people need in a reasonably priced DAW controller.
