I will keep this bass for a very long time. It is the new beginning of a new arsenal. Larger amp to follow.

Sound
The Stingray has a tone all itself. I have owned other Stingray basses and this one is by far the best built and quickest adjusting 'Ray I have ever owned. The maple neck, a first for me, is lightening fast and bright. The finish is like glass. I have owned Ric 4003 in black that showed the seam down the back. This bass does not. You would swear it was a single piece of poplar wood, which it's not. (3 piece). It is a bright sounding bass with that unmistakable "clickity, clickity" sound of the sting ray. Great 3 band active pre amp. Plenty of mids and good solid low end. The treble is WAY out there. The neck is to die for. Really. Slick as snot and faster than a guy on his prom night. Not a finished neck, instead a "satin" finish.....oil it well and it will love you for it.

Features
I wish it came with a saddle wrench, (Allen) but other than that, it adjusted very easily and quickly. I play with very low action and this bass does not buzz with my set up. The action came medium low, and slightly bowed. For many, it would be a good medium setup. I adjusted the neck, (took all of about 1 minute) lowered the saddles and BOOM....all Sting Ray to please the ears. Great on board pre amp.

Ease of Use
Simple as can be. Volume, treble, mids, bass controls....and a world of experimentation read more will get you where you want to go. Playability is addictive. You WANT to play it. The neck feels like Bo Derek.....built and sexy smooth.

Quality
This is the best MM bass I have ever owned. And I have had a couple with QC problems. Whatever they did in the last 4 years....keep it up. Flawless. Shinny black body and a nice bright maple neck. Pure sex!

Value
Worth every dime, worry, sleepless night about how to pay for it. If you can, get one!

Manufacturer Support
I gave the company a 6 because of my past experience with them. Not the best experience but that was years ago.

The Wow Factor
It oozes sex. Black and maple....and the chrome. Kind of the Harley Davidson of basses.
