From Our Catalog
Attitude, stunning good looks and an incredible 350 watts of brutal yet toneful power set the MODE FOUR apart from all other amps. Add to this an arsenal of great sounds, a slew of professional features plus groundbreaking, state-of-the-art hybrid technology and you have a Marshall like no other.

The first ever Marshall, the legendary JTM45, was born in 1962 as a result of the Guv'nor, Jim Marshall, listening to what guitar players wanted. Forty years later, the song remains the same and that's how the MODE FOUR came to be. Modern guitarists told us they wanted an amp capable of more gain, more low-end and more headroom than ever before . . . plus great cleans and, of course, the crunch tones that have made Marshall a legend! We listened and reacted - the result is the MODE FOUR.

Dual Amplifier with 4 Modes
A great many amplifiers have claimed to offer both classic and modern tones but, in truth, have fallen well short of the mark. The MODE FOUR boasts a true 'Two Amplifiers in One' design. Not only do AMP 1 and AMP 2 have totally separate valve pre-amplifier circuits, including an ECC83 valve each, but the MODE FOUR also completely reconfigures its power amplifier section depending on the AMP type selected.

The MODE FOUR's flexibility is further enhanced by each of the two AMP types having two footswitchable modes. AMP1 offers Clean and Crunch modes, while AMP2 has OD1 and OD2.

AMP 1
AMP 1 is effectively the 'Classic' side of the MODE FOUR. Whenever it is selected, the power amplifier configures to recreate the unmistakable sound and feel of our world renowned 100 Watt valve power stage. By using this as a sonic foundation, AMP1 produces the unmistakable Marshall power amp roar.

While AMP 1's Clean mode produces incredibly dynamic, three-dimensional clean and bluesy crunch sounds, its Crunch mode unleashes the un-bridled aggression and bite of the JCM800 Series, but with levels of gain never imagined in 1981, when this much-lauded series was first launched.

AMP 2
In terms of sheer gain, AMP 2 takes over from where AMP1 leaves off, with OD2 mode offering more Gain than any other Marshall before it, and thanks to the MODE FOUR's radical design, the player retains maximum control while searching for the ultimate high-gain signature sound.

The Power to Deliver
Whenever AMP 2 is selected, the MODE FOUR's power section reconfigures itself so it can create the deep, dark-sounding, loose low-end that has proved itself to be so popular with many modern players who either detune regular 6-strings, or use 7-string or detuned Baritone guitars.

Due to the unique design and the incredibly high headroom the MODE FOUR's 350-watt power stage possesses, AMP 2's impressively wide bottom-end not only has the sound and feel of an all-valve amp, it also doesn't lose definition at high stage volumes - a problem that many other similar sounding, all-valve systems suffer from.

Fully Loaded For Professional Use
From the very start, the MODE FOUR was created with the professional guitarist in mind. To this end it boasts a host of carefully thought out features that have been designed to give you, the player, the ultimate in professional flexibility and control. These include:

Separate controls for Gain, volume, bass, middle and treble for each amp.

Individually voiced scoop switches for each AMP.

AMP 2 has a 3-way Tone Matrix control enabling you to dramatically reconfigure the all-important mids, while leaving the bass, middle and treble controls fully interactive with each other.

Footswitchable, built-in digital reverb with separate reverb controls for AMP 1 and AMP 2.

Parallel to Series FX Loop with individual FX level controls for AMP 1 and AMP 2.

Footswitchable solo level control that gives a level increase across all 4 modes of up to 6dB (i.e. twice the volume).

Master controls for resonance, presence and volume.

Tuner out jack with a front panel tuner mute switch for 'silent' tuning between songs.

XLR and 1/4 in. jack emulated line outputs.

Load protection circuitry.

6-way LED footcontroller supplied.

"great amp"
Feature:
Digital Reverb included with a kill switch. nothing makes paying odd timing sound tighter than turning off the reverd. the effects loop adjustable from paralel to serial by adjusting the effect level is a awesome addition with each "amp have its own reverb and effect setting". this is a veristile amp

Quality:
its a marshall... please

Value:
better pried than mesa boogie but for beginners Randall rm200 sounds great.. i've used the 100 watt version for 15 years and I'm just now spending the money.

Desirability:
yes I bought it

Sound:
This amp rocks... I read a review by someone stating they had volume problems changing channals adn so did I untill I read the manual. and saw how marshall uses "sweet spots" on the gain controll to level out the diffrence from clean to distored. I now with the use of the foot controller can go from sparkaling cleans to heavy heavy distortion. I gave it a 9 for sound beacue I still feel that an all tube amp produces a better clean sound but I have not heard a better distortion. not to say the clean is bad it's exeptional. I just like the JCM 800 a little better for clean. but compare it to the mesa triple rectifier .. this amp is on par if not better ( I personly feel I get better tones from the marshall) and it cost less.

Support:
5 year warrenty and 3 years on tubes and speakers .. compare it .. any one

Overall:
its a keeper . I may get a jcm 2000 but thats not a replacement just an addition to the arsonal. I still have the randall and will never sell it. diffrent uses.. the marshall will be my stage amp and primary studio amp.

"True Marshall Power"
Feature:
This thing is packed full of great features like the Solo Boost, the indivisual FX Volume for each amp, and the simulated speaker out for recording and live sound.

Quality:
It's a Marshall, and they are tanks! This amp looks just as sold as any other Marshall I have ever seen, plus its a hybrid so no worrying about the power tubes!

Value:
This truly is a great deal. It might be a little hard on the pocket book for some but it is packed for of some many great things for the modern guitar player. It more or less has 4 diffrent Marshall amps all in one.

Desirability:
I would have to say this is best looking Marshall ever, it just screams at you.

Sound:
I love the tone on this amp, it's very versitile and can go from classy sounding tube overdrive to an extreme new marshall distortion. Amp 2's OD2 has enough gain for anyone, I have to keep the gain set on 5 and I play metal!

Support:
Never had to deal with Marshall themselves but any Marshall dealer will service the amps and all of them I have dealt with rocked.

Overall:
I'm very satisfied with this amp, it just rocks. Pure balls to the wall cranked Marshall, theres nothing better then that. I use it for recording and when I'm on the road. It's my main amp all around.
