Its not fender clean but it has a nice clean sound . especially if you back off the pickups and soften up on your picking . i never owned a Marshall always tried to buy cheap alternatives to the big name tube amps and was disappointed in tone and sound . all i can say is wow and not just tone and sound but dynamics in picking and that percussive sound you get when finger picking nice . i cant wait to play it through a 4x12 or 2x12 cab i got the white one its cool looking and the thing is a beast for a 1x12 combo like 65 pounds fedex guy was struggling. Lol , ohh give the speaker a chance mine is still not broke in waiting to see how it smooths out when broke in before considering a speaker upgrade it does have a big sound to it not compressed but can be a bit bright at times but has tremendous bassd for sure .and let me say zZounds was great once again no muss no fuss
