A Classic Valve Design, Reproduced to Spec

Just like the classic DSL100, the DSL100H is an all-valve design boasting 4 x ECC83 and 4 x EL34 tubes. These impart a rich tone from the moment you turn the amp on, and then gradually reveal a complex and rich evolving world of crunch as you push the gain stage.

Resonance Control, 3-Band EQ and Mid-Shift

For more than three decades of hard rock and metal music, the sound of a distorted DSL100 has been a benchmark for musicians crafting powerful tones. Now you can take your own quest for tone even further with the newly-added Resonance control that gives you more control over the low-end weight and balance. There is a 3-band Treble/Middle/Bass EQ as well, which delivers a highly musical range of color for you to explore. A Mid-Shift button allows you to immediately conjure the furious sounds needed for hard rock leads and shredding metal tones.

Add the Optional Footswitch

An optional footswitch allows you to switch between the 2 channels and engage or disengage the DSL100H's on-board digital reverb. The read more footswitch also allows you to toggle between the Classic Gain and Ultra channels with "Clean/Crunch" and "Lead 1/Lead 2," so you can move effortlessly between the DSL100H's powerful clean tone and the high-gain sizzle you want.

Great I/O Design for Maximum Versatility

The rear panel on the DSL100H features some very thoughtful I/O design. The series FX Loop is fully bypassable via an on/off switch. There is also a Pentode (Full Power)/Triode (Half Power) switch that drops the power amp's output to 50 watts in situations where you still want a crunchy tone, but a less crushing volume. Musicians have been using the DSL100 as a studio amplifier for years, and this feature makes it somewhat more manageable in such situation. There are 2 x 8 ohm outputs to run to cabinets or loudspeakers, and 1 x 16 ohm jack as well.

Marshall DSL100H Guitar Amplifier Head

The all-valve, four ECC83 and four EL34 Marshall DSL100H twin-channel guitar amplifier head has the same exact valve complement and feature set as the iconic DSL100 -- but with a few modern upgrades. A resonance control (as opposed to the original's fixed Deep switch) is included -- giving you total control of exactly how much low-end "girth" you want to add. Studio-quality, digital reverb is included as well as a rear-panel Pentode/Triode switch that will drop the amp's output power to 50 watts. A 2-Way footswitch for channel switching and reverb on/off is included as well.

Its foot-switchable 'Classic Gain' and 'Ultra' channels each boast two modes - 'Clean/Crunch' and 'Lead 1/Lead 2' respectively. These will take you from Plexi-style, pristine clean to JCM800 snarl, hot-rodded 2203, high-gain lead and all points in-between. The flexibility of the shared 5-way EQ (Treble, Middle, Bass, Resonance and Presence) section is increased further by a Mid-Shift button -- perfect for modern metal brutality.

A series FX loop on the rear panel (bypassable via an on/off switch) adds to the DSL100H's professional flexibility, as does the Pentode (Full Power)/Triode (Half Power) switch which drops the power amp's output to 50 watts. It also changes the amp's tonal character, as Triode mode produces a smoother, less aggressive sound.

I bought the Dsl100h while waiting for a replacement power tube board to ship after my English made Jcm 2000 became conductive and died. Tour started in less than a week, and I really wanted the same sound in a hurry. I have several years of experience with tube amps and repair, and I can tell you that the sound is identical to the Jcm 2000 Dsl I already owned. Don't let purists persuade you that it's inferior due to being made in Vietnam. The Dsl100h is basically a more reliable reissue, thanks to the power tubes being chassis mounted as opposed to the Jcm 2000 being pc board mounted along with several other upgrades including a better bias circuit and the isolation of components to one main board, instead of several boards and flying wires. My Jcm 2000 Dsl is fixed now, but my go to amp is the Dsl100h, seeing as the sound is the same, and I can count on it to be reliable. Also, I've bought gear from zZounds for years and they've always been more than accommodating to my needs. You won't regret this amp for that "Marshall roar" or squeaky cleans.
