I bought my first Martin about 20 years ago, and it was with me from high school until now. It lasted through college dorms and my first apartments, multiple cross country moves. Not to mention countless gigs, open mics, house parties or wherever I had shows. So I knew when it finally went and I had to replace it I wanted another Martin. But this time I wanted a cut-away for easier access to those last couple frets and a darker wood for the warm tones. Almost bought one of the base models but thought I’d spring for one of the higher end ones like the OMC-15ME. Now that I have it and have played it a bit, wow I could not be happier. The mahogany wood looks great with the satin finish but more importantly sounds amazing. So full and I like the darker tone, exactly what I was hoping for. As soon as I first took it out of the case I could feel the craftsmanship, the string height and action of the fretboard is absolutely perfect and makes it easier to play than low quality acoustics. The neck feels solid and plays great, the open backed tuners have real percision. It comes with a fishman pickup with volume, enhance and tone knobs internal to the sound hole. Not like the older models which had slide controls installed in side (rim) of the guitar. Makes it look like just a normal acoustic other than the battery box on the bottom strap lock, which is small and has a separate input jack (older Martain’s the jack was build into the bottom strap lock, which eventually broke on me). Plugged read more in the tone knob gives a great flat or scooped sound, and with something like a memory man or looper it’s unbelievable.Overall just really happy I went with the higher end model, you definitely get what you pay for. Thanks to zZounds payment plans I can have this amazing guitar, and I hope to keep this one for another 20 years plus! Can’t wait to gig with this, plugged in or mic’d up!

Sound
The mahogany gives me exactly the tone I’m looking for. Great in standard tuning but heavier drop-D or even metal style shredding sounds great with the darker tone.

Features
Fishman pick up is amazing love the placement and sound. Love the satin finish with mahogany.

Ease of Use
Perfect acoustic sound and plugged in sounds great with delays, reverbs, loopers, etc.

Quality
Great craftsmanship, last Martin I used for 20 years and hoping to keep this one at least that long hopefully longer.

Value
Yes, the base models sound ok but if you have been playing for long enough to hear the differences, you will hear the quality immediately when you play it.

Manufacturer Support
Never needed too with my old Martin so no experience.

The Wow Factor
This is a guitar for players that have a good amount of experience and want to buy something that will really excite them. Not a good first guitar (obviously) but veteran players will absolutely love it.

Musical Background:
~20 years experience, bands, shows, etc.

Musical Style:
Blues, grunge, metal, psychedelic, electronic and hip hop elements as well.
