Advanced guitar design meets high-tech guitar construction in the Martin DCPA5K. The result: a highly affordable Performing Artist guitar with excellent tone, playability and durability. Back and sides of the cutaway Dreadnought and Grand Performance models are made of a high-pressure wood fiber laminate (called HPL) with Koa grain and texture photo imbedded. The top is solid Sitka spruce braced with Martin's Hybrid "X" scalloped bracing system, renowned for its resonance, clear treble and distinct bass. The Performing Artist Profile neck is slim and fast and comfortable, made of tough Stratabond multi-layered wood laminate. Performing Artist bridge and fingerboard are black Richlite. Chrome enclosed tuners with large buttons and Fishman F1 Analog onboard electronics included. A terrific value with great tone and environmentally friendly.

Very nice guitar. I had to set the neck and file down the saddle a bit to get the lower action I needed. It worked out so that at a get together with Rik Emmett (Triumph), he enjoyed playing it very much. Tonal quality has great depth and the onboard electronics were smooth.. I highly recommend it for a lower priced Martin... Don't forget to order a case too..

Musical Background:

Been playing for 36 years. Guitarist for THOR and other bands.. Front porch jamming now and small get-togethers with friends..

Rock, Jazz and such..
