Moog Sub 37 Tribute Analog Synthesizer Keyboard

No longer available at zZounds
Loaded with knobs, switches and an LCD screen, the Sub 37 has Moog's classic filter, MultiDrive distortion, syncable arpeggiators, and even 2-note polyphony.

The Moog Sub 37 Tribute analog synthesizer keyboard is a limited-edition analog synth that truly pays homage to Dr. Robert Moog, founder of Moog Music and pioneer of electronic musical instruments. Sporting 37 full-sized keys and an arsenal of knobs and switches, the Sub 37 Tribute offers two oscillators which can work together or independently, in either monophonic or paraphonic mode. It's got two modulation busses with assignable source and destination options as well as complete filter and envelope sections to allow you to sculpt your sounds. Here's a modern synth that Bob Moog could get behind!

Moog Multidrive: Overdrive Your Synth

The Moog Sub 37 Tribute offers Moog's Multidrive knob, which adds warm overdrive when set to low, and turns the Sub 37 Tribute into a screaming machine when dialed up. To build a gritty, harmonic-soaked synth sound, start by pushing your oscillator level controls past noon to begin overdriving the input of the filter section. Then, grab the Multidrive knob to dial in more overdrive, post-filter.

"Sub" Means Sub-Bass

The "Sub" in Moog Sub 37 Tribute gets its name from the Sub oscillator found in the mixer section, which adds a square wave one octave below the primary oscillator. Crank this knob to add some womp to your waves or build bassy percussive sounds. Between the Sub 37 Tribute's two main oscillators (which can be played in monophonic of paraphonic modes) the noise generator, and the Sub osc, you have a seriously heavy toolbox read more for creating massive basses and cutting leads.

The Sub 37 is the synth I've been waiting for. I was weary to get into hardware because I had such a connected digital setup. But, I can't say enough how important the Sub 37 is to my creative process now. It finally got me back into making music, and not just programming a song. You can see the specs, details and technical reviews anywhere, but believe when I say "The Sub 37 brought fun and creativity back into my music". It's a simply brilliant instrument.
