In terms of overall tone, signal quality, construction, value and increased low end, this cable cannot be beat. From the moment you plug it in, you will hear the difference in the sound of your bass. Both my basses sound awesome using this cable. The ONLY critical thing I can say about the cable is it is very stiff. When laying on floor, it wants to coil up. I think this is due to the shielding which is why the low end is so much higher than other cables. I have used a variety of cables (Live wire, Planet waves) and the only plus of those vs this cable is they don't coil and get caught on your feet. As a working musician, I play on a lot of different size stages and when you are in tighter quarters, this characteristic is a problem. My suggestion is only by the length that you know you will need most of the time and limit the amount of extra cable. However, as I said, the value, quality, sound and overall pros outweigh this one issue. If you only get the length you need, there is nothing out there that beats this cable for bassists.
