Manufacturer's Description for Morley KIKO Kiko Loureiro Distortion Wah Volume Pedal

The Morley KIKO is one of the most versatile wah pedals out there! Brazilian Heavy Metal Virtuoso Kiko Loureiro (Angra, Blezqi Zatzas and Silent Moon), has teamed up with Morley to produce the KIKO distortion/wah/volume pedal. Wah and volume are both set to Kiko's own specifications and are switchable between wah and volume. Other features are independent distortion with drive, level and tone controls, electro-optical on/off switching and true-tone bypass buffer circuit for pure tone. Heavy duty metal housing and it operates on 9V battery or optional AC power supply.

Morley's Electro-Optical Circuitry
An LED (Light Emitting Diode) shines on an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor). A shutter alters light between the two components controlling functions like Wah, volume and switching. Electro-Optical design ensures smooth pedal control without unwanted noise typical with potentiometer (pot) controlled pedals. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Morley products.

Sound: The wah on this pedal sounds amazing. Very responsive and smooth. Volume pedal works great too. The distortion, however, seems like an afterthought. It's not a true distortion. It doesn't completely cover the sound of the guitar, you can't put any even overdrive it to get a different tone. It kind of sounds cool on an acoustic since you get the acoustic sound with a little distortion on top. Feature: The fact that this is three pedals in one really drew me in. Ease of Use: The layout of the pedal is aweful if you're playing live. The stomp buttons are too close to the wah pedal. If you're not careful you will mute your guitar when switching in and out of wah/distortion. Quality: It's all metal, very solid construction. Value: Three pedals in one makes it a great deal. The Wow Factor: looks cool Overall: I owned this pedal for about two weeks before returning it. I wanted to use the distortion and volume portion and have a bonus wah built in, but it turns out it's the opposite. I would buy another Morley wah without the distortion and a separate distortion pedal.
