"Below average for too much."

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
It's harware, try categorizing your responses so to exclude redundant questions.
Features
Not even a drum key.
Ease of Use
Once again, usage is easy but no sound.
Quality
So not to slight on Mapex harware, but the 500 series is trash. The cymbal stands are "average to below" and the rest is all trash. Your 500 pedal doesnt have a base, so you have to clamp onto the bassdrum with the only support being the metal bars that extend from the tower on the pedal.
Value
No, I would reccomend not paying more than about 150.00 for this.
Manufacturer Support
Mapex has been a good harware maker for the last 20 years or so since they were founded. Anything up from the 700's are awesome, its just the 5's that are trash. The hihat stand is flimsy, and so is the pedal. The snare stand can barely handle a normal weighted snare.
The Wow Factor
No, when you look at the rest of the Mapex harware this harware looks cheap. No "sex appeal" (Didnt know hardware had sex appeal).
