"A real work horse,Owned for two years and no problems yet."

Feature:
No accessories were included. You will need to get the best cards for your console.Analog or digital? Best feature for me was the ability to record 8 takes per track and choose the best when all is said and done with out loosing and of the originals. The remote 24 is a must for guitarist when working alone. The ability to edit the beginning and tail of a track for noise and background noise is great. I don't use noise gates very much anymore because of this feature.

Quality:
Machine is built very well. I have upgraded mine to a 120gb HD and increased RAM to 256 also upgraded bios to 1.4 This machine just gets better with use. You can use off the self hard drives as backups and the slide in racks are cheap at any good computer shop.I plan on using mine untill it wears out.

Value:
I bought mine towards the end of its life cycle but don't let that stop you from picking one up. This machine is well worth the money at $2K.

Desirability:
This is all subjective. In my studio a piece of gear is not bought on looks but practicle application. It has to work as intended and be a reliable work horse so looks do not count for me.

Sound:
Only use mine in the studio for recording both live from amps and direct from keyboard modules. Does not add or take away anything from the sound which is a good thing.

Support:
Mackie support is the best. Quick to get you parts. Their web site has free downloads for all their products. You can get a download for any user manual at their site. Highly recommend!

Overall:
I use a yamaha 02Rv2 console with light pipe optics to connect the HD24 to my console. I still record at 16 bit as I'm very happy with the recordings. This technology may be getting old but still works great and service parts are still available if needed. But that's just it, I have had no problems with my unit other then upgrades which are very inexpensive. Love the editing features. I use a remote 24 and thats great in the studio for guitar work especially when working alone and doing overdubs, again another great peice of gear.
