This is by far the least expensive rack in terms of price/slot. Don't let that fool you though, the thing is a quality piece of gear. Looking at the pictures on the website, it would seem that it's made of plastic, but it is in fact a rather sturdy extruded or cast aluminium.
Sound
The unit itself doesn't produce any sound as it is a connection and power distributor for 500 series modules. That being said, there's no colouration of the sound because of the box.
Features
The rack is pretty bare bones: 6 sets of in/out XLR jacks on the back that need to be daisy chained together with patch cables to interconnect the various modules you plug in.
Ease of Use
It is incredibly easy to use and even comes with spare screws in case you lose a couple.
Quality
I wouldn't want to try it myself, but you could probably drop it down a few flights of stairs and the connected modules probably wouldn't be harmed and still function correctly.
Value
Granted that it doesn't have the large variety of features present in say a Radial Workhorse rack, but it's solid and dependable and well worth the price if you're unsure about getting into using 500 series modules in your recording setup.

I have not had to contact customer support regarding this product.
