Korg LP-380 Home Digital Piano (with USB Audio)

No longer available at zZounds
With its stunning slim cabinet and expressive piano sounds, plus electric pianos and more sounds derived from the Korg Kronos, the LP380 is a serious value.

For piano players of all skill levels, Korg offers the LP380 -- a digital piano that packs many expressive acoustic and electric piano sounds, including different temperaments for period-specific performances and dynamic sounds from the Korg Kronos Music Workstation -- all in a slim, low-profile design that's perfect for your home or practice studio.

Sounds That Match Your Music

A total of 30 piano sounds are built in, giving you just the right piano for each piece you are going to play. Choose from nine different temperaments to get historically authentic performances with period instrument ensembles. The LP380 also features three go-to effects: brilliance, which adjusts the brightness of the tone; reverb, which simulates the natural ambience (reverberation) of a concert hall; and chorus, which adds spaciousness to your sound.

Authentic Acoustic and Electric Piano Sounds

Designed to reproduce the playing feel of an acoustic piano, the LP380's sound switches between four piano samples according to your playing dynamics, supporting the entire dynamic range. Even the Classic Piano and Grand Piano sounds realistically reproduce the damper resonances that occur when you hold down the damper pedal of an acoustic piano. Similarly, the electric piano sounds reproduce not only the way that the tone responds to your touch, but also the subtle noises that occur when you release a key. You get six types of vintage electric piano sounds, which cover everything from pop music of read more the '60s and '70s to soul music.

Layer and Partner Modes: Good Things Come in Pairs

Using Layer mode, two sounds can be played together. Likewise, using Partner mode, two people can play together; great for group lessons, Partner mode divides the keyboard into left and right regions so that two players can play the same range of pitches simultaneously. Two headphone jacks allow two people to practice the LP380 together quietly.

The high-output amp section produces plenty of volume for your triple forte passages, while large-diameter speakers deliver rich piano sound straight to the back of your room. Other helpful features include Line Out for connecting the piano to your speaker system, a built-in metronome, and MIDI capability which lets you use the LP380 as a 16-part multitimbral sound module.

A Piano That Your Fingers Want to Play

This digital piano doesn't just sound good -- it feels good, too. Korg's flagship RH3 (Real Weighted Hammer Action 3) keyboard and three-pedal design with half-damper support lend the LP380 a realistic, acoustic piano-like touch. Like a grand piano, the RH3 keyboard delivers heavier response in the lower register that becomes lighter as you play upward. Personalize your keyboard with the Key Touch Control function, which lets you choose one of three levels to specify how your playing dynamics will affect the sound.

Super Slim Design

The best part about this instrument's look and feel may be its super-compact size. Its lightweight, slimline chassis makes the Korg LP380 a good fit for any space, especially apartments and dorm rooms, or any room, really, where space is limited. The digital piano's weight and build also make it easier to move up and down stairs or through doorways than other, bigger models. A flat-top cabinet gives it a streamlined, furniture-like appearance when the wooden key cover is closed -- making the LP380 one digital piano you'll be proud to display in any living room, church sanctuary, or formal performance venue.

Incredible sounding piano. I had Yamaha P80 and P155 and this Korg is so much more. Seems to be faster. The sound is BIG, just like a real one played live. There are some sound banks and the Upright has some funky ones, lot of potential. Had eyed this Korg over 1 year and finally got it, could not be more happy with the results.

Musical Background:

Been learning to play piano for a decade.
