With real wooden keys, the CE220 feels amazing. You get 22 layerable sounds and a Balance slider -- plus Split and 4-Hands modes, USB stick memory, and more.

The Kawai CE220 is the ultimate digital piano to have at home for lessons, practicing, composing, and regular jamming. Designed to look, feel, and sound just as rich and resonant as an acoustic piano, the CE220 boasts a full keyboard with real wooden keys and piano sampling for a true piano experience, a handy 4-Hands mode for playing duets and group lessons, a built-in two-track recorder, nearly two dozen instrument sounds, and loads of factory drum rhythms and classical piano songs. If you're in need of a versatile piano that not only plays well and sounds amazing, but also helps you to become a better player, then try your hand at the CE220 digital piano.

Stunning Instrument Sounds

Using their Progressive Harmonic Imaging Sound Technology, Kawai deep-sampled one of their own concert grands to preserve the tonal character of each note and put the samples to work on all 88 keys of the CE220. As a result, every note you play on the CE220 sounds like it came from a 9-foot concert grand piano.

When you're not getting the concert grand experience, you'll enjoy performing with the other instrument sounds onboard, all of which were sampled as such to sound as realistic and vibrant as possible. A total of 22 instrument sounds are available, including electric pianos, harpsichords, organs, orchestral strings, choir, and vibraphones. Being able to play non-piano sounds is one of the greatest perks of having a digital piano. If you wanted to play only piano sounds all day, you'd go read more out and buy an acoustic piano.

Thanks to 192-note maximum polyphony, you can layer sounds and play complicated musical passages without having to endure note drop-out. The CE220 will have your back while you practice that Paganini piece.

Exceptional Keyboard with Wooden Keys, Useful Playing Modes, and More

For a natural, comfortable playing feel, this digital piano sports a full 88-key AWA PROII keyboard with graded hammer action, counterbalancing, and real wooden keys. Unlike other digital pianos which have keys that were engineered to have the same weight and finish of wooden acoustic piano keys, the CE220 actually uses them.

The keyboard also goes above and beyond the needs of the single player when in 4-Hands mode, which divides the keyboard into two identical, half-size (44-key) pianos. Use this special mode to play duets, work on passages with your teacher (or your student, if you're the teacher) during lessons, and so forth.

Likewise, the CE220 features convenient Dual and Split modes for further multitasking on the same keyboard. In Dual mode, you can play two sounds at the same time, and in Split mode, you can play one sound on the left side of the keyboard and a totally different sound on the right -- for example, you could play strings on the left side and solo piano on the right side, for a shared stage-like effect. A Balance Slider controls the volume balance in Dual or Split mode.

Stay on the Beat

When you need to make the most of your practice time, you'll enjoy using the built-in digital metronome, which has adjustable tempo and volume, plus a range of time signatures. The metronome even includes 100 drum rhythms in a variety of musical styles.

Five star customer service from zZounds! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and always professional. The Kawai CE220 is an exceptional value for this price point. The touch and sound quality are amazing. Two of our children are taking lessons and practice on this digital piano daily. We have owned this instrument for over 10 months and have never had a single issue with it. Assembly was easy and didn't take very long. The instructions are clear. It will take two people for some of the steps due to the weight of the keyboard/main piece. It blends in with home furnishings and isn't an eyesore. This is a fabulous choice for those wanting high quality at an affordable price. I would highly recommend this for both beginners and experienced players. Originally I thought I would use this for 2-3 years and then upgrade for an upright acoustic, but I'm so pleased that I am planning on using it for at least 10 years.
