Applications
For applications requiring full bandwidth sound reproduction, the PRX615M delivers the optimum balance. For live music, recorded music playback and speech the user has the option of tailoring the EQ, 'flat' for speech intelligibility, and 'boost' for enhanced bass and crisp highs in recorded music playback. A microphone can be directly connected to the speaker input for quick PA applications. Coupled with a PRX600 sub-woofer the system becomes an efficient, full-range sound system.

The PRX615M is comprised of a 380 mm (15 inch) 265F Differential Drive dual voice-coil and magnetic gap, neodymium woofer, a 2408H-1 37.5 mm (1.5 inch) annular polymer diaphragm, neodymium compression driver mounted to a 90 by 50 degree horn, all driven by 1000 watt (dual 500 watt) Crown Class-D power amplifier. A propriety DSP chip is at the core of a fully featured input section, providing user selectable system EQ, protection, input sensitivity selection, cross-over functionality, dynamic limiting and discrete component optimization.

All PRX600 cabinets are built from a combination of 25mm (on the top and bottom for added rigidity) and 18mm, strong, light-weight poplar plywood made structurally sound with tongue and groove joints. All PRX600 Series cabinets are protected by JBL's tour proven DuraFlex finish. Grilles are made from dent-resistant 16 gauge steel and handles are made from light-weight glass-filled nylon for added strength and durability. All M10 suspension points are constructed from 14 gauge steel and have been tested with a yield-strength of 1000 lbs. each.

The amplifier input panel offers XLR or 1/4 inch jack compatibility and a sensitivity switch provides extra flexibility, making it possible to connect literally any sound source without using a mixer. Signal present and overload lights indicate the system status and assist in setting the optimum level, via the level control knob.

I can see these as my main speakers for awhile and eventually becoming great side fill wedges when I upgrade my mains to 3 ways. I will always use these for small gigs or small dj gigs where 3 way speakers aren't necessary. I am a gigging musician, sound man, dj, and karaoke dj. I get nothing but compliments and praise on the sound reproduction of these speakers. These replaced my first sound system mains and they run circles around the competition.

Sound
The sound quality is pretty amazing. clear through the whole frequency range. Outstanding for vocals. As well as just D'Jing. When compared in a side by side with the k12 I though that these speakers were much clearer and more defined where as the k12's seemed warmer even a little muddier than these. These are well built speakers. The bass response is pretty amazing also and for smaller gigs or dj events would work perfect by themselves. If the industry standard is the k12's right now I feel like these take it for the new standard at this price point. I didnt get a chance to hear the ELX's, but then again I don't think I needed to.

Features
I agree with others the buttons on back could have some more seperation. I am barely concerned about the fan unit these things lack. Honestly if I am running them hard enough where they thermal. I should probably be running bigger speakers. I run my pair turned to 12 o clock on the rear of the speaker and I have plenty of head read more room on my board. Pretty much everything sounds good out of them.

Ease of Use
Plug them into a board and go. Pretty easy to get great quality sound with them. I hope to Use them as side fill wedges someday. For now the make great mains and sit nicely over my subs. These will easily fill up almost all the bars I would play around town.

Quality
I really like the look. And the feel of these speakers is pretty amazing. Wood cabinets are the way to go.

Value
I feel the price is right. At 800 a speaker I feel they are well worth it. The EV's may be cheaper and sound quality may be very similar to these but, I subscribe to the idea that sometimes if you spend a little more that the thing will be a little more well built and last you down the road. I did a lot of research like days before I tested these against competitors. I was skeptical at first because I have heard some bad jbl stuff but these. Really do raise the bar.

Manufacturer Support
Only based on the fact that I haven't had to use them yet. This may slide down if I ever do. I take pretty care of my stuff though so, I don't anticipate needing jbl and it seems to be well built.

The Wow Factor
I bought them. Pretty easy decision

Musical Background:
I am a army musician. I play bass. I've been playing a long time.

Musical Style:
All styles. I have to be knowledgable in everything
