Description
Docs
If you need low-end and lots of it for your performances, you already know there's nothing like a subwoofer. You probably also know that buying a sub and a crossover and another amp to power it means you'll need to spend a lot to get that bass. The MP255S changes all that.

First, the MP255S is among the most affordable subs in its class. But there's more to the story than just great value in a high-performance subwoofer. You see, the MP255S is a bandpass design. This means that it uses 2 tuned chambers to shift its energy down into the low frequency region where you really need it.

And it's also got a low-pass filter to get rid of the remaining mid-range output. So all you hear from the MP255S is bass, with no mid-range output to interfere with your main speaker system. So you can simply plug the MP255S into your existing amplifier* and get immediate gratification without buying another amp and crossover.

Then when you and your finances are ready, add an amp and crossover to take your system to the next level.

Features
Dual 15 in. band-pass design puts the energy in the bass region where it's needed for "punch" and power.

Dual Neutrik¬ Speakon¬ NL-4 input connectors provided for secure connection and loop-through capability. Input connections may be reconfigured for pin 1± or pin 2± for compatibility with any cabling scheme.

Enclosure constructed of 7-ply, 18mm plywood using tongue-and-groove joint detail for durability and years of service.

Covered in premium grade, 12 oz. carpet — the most durable and attractive carpet covering available.

35mm pole mount receptacle. 24 in. (610mm) steel pole included for Sub/Satellite systems.

Empowering Music Professionals
In developing the MPro line, JBL looked at the way music professionals are using live sound speakers today. Many MPro attributes such as extended frequency response, compact size, and easy handling are a direct result. The MPro 200 Series offers unique, professional appearance, superb acoustical performance, cutting edge configurations, buyer confidence that goes with the JBL brand Carpet covered, plywood enclosures, and 250 watt power ratings (500 watts for dual woofer models). MPro 200 Series models are covered in the highest grade, 12 oz. carpet. Note that the edges of the carpet on all 2-way models are captured by the joint detail. This means you won't see the carpet seams and the carpet won't peel back.

Cabinet Construction
All MPro models are constructed of 7-ply, 18mm plywood — not lower cost "engineered wood" products. Plywood construction assures a tough enclosure and robust joints that hold together through a tough life on the road. Carefully fitted rabbet joints and tongue-and-groove construction techniques are used throughout the line. State-of-the-art adhesives are used for glue joints that are actually far stronger than the plywood.

Laminar Flow Baffle
Used on all 2-way models, the Laminar Flow Baffle integrates horn, ports, baffle and woofer mounting. The term "Laminar Flow" is used by aerospace engineers to describe the smooth flow of air over a surface — the opposite of turbulent flow. In aircraft design, turbulence produces unwanted drag and unpredictable handling. In a speaker system, turbulence and diffraction create distortion and undesirable phase cancellations. The smooth, rounded contours of the baffle and seamless one-piece structure reduce the effects of turbulence and diffraction. The result is lower distortion and smoother frequency response.

Laminar Flow Baffle Benefits
Smooth ports with rounded edges reduce distortion caused by turbulence.

Concave shape and recessed woofer mounting reduce diffraction effects that harm frequency response.

Molded baffle allows for large horn mouth without growing the size of the system. The result is improved performance in the critical mid-range.

The Laminar Flow Baffle is constructed of SMC (Sheet Molding Compound). A tough, polymer used extensively in the auto industry for body panels and other parts.

Hardware
Only the most rugged hardware is used on MPro products.

Large, ergonomically positioned steel handles

16-gauge, hexagonally perforated steel grills

Cast aluminum pole mount sockets (MP418 models use steel cup)

Heavy-duty, rattle-resistant, 3 in. casters on selected subwoofer models

Desirability:
VERY PROFESSIONAL LOOK!

Sound:
well i can't say enough about this sub, driven by the qsc rmx 2450 i'm puttin 750 in at 4 ohms and it sounds suprisingly strong even at the highest of spl....(sound pressure level). yes of course when you push these bad boys to the limit you may feel a little light headed because these things have broken 2 of my windows already. best bang for the buck.....anywhere!!!!!

Support:
in the middle of a dilema that i caused!

Overall:
I WILL NEVER LONG FOR A BETTER SOUNDING CAB. YOU JUST CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS, I'VE HERD ALL DIFFERENT SUBS....CERWIN VEGA,MACKIE,COMMUNITY,YAMAHA,OR WHATEVER THEY HAVE IN THE SHOW ROOM AT THE TIME, BUT THESE JEWELS WILL ALWAYS BE NUMBA ONE!

"The JBL goes BOOOOOOM very very well."
Feature:
I haven't had to transport it yet, but its wheels are helpful.

Quality:
Very solid structure. Has a great look. Easy to hook up and use.

Value:
Worth every SINGLE PENNNY. Again, when used with one channel on the CE2000, its a perfect match.

Desirability:
has a good BOOM

Sound:
Has a nice deep sound. It can also get pretty loud. Worth every dollar. Sounds awesome when paired with the Crown CE2000 amp... they have similiar clipping points.

Support:
I haven't had to use support yet

Overall:
I think this product outdoes the Mackie 18" Powered Sub anyday....this sub has very powerful 15" subs in it that hit very hard. Despite the heavy weight, its still one of the best subs i have ever heard. I would recommend it to anybody that wants a very powerful addition to their setup.
