The JBL JRX118SP is A 300-watt (continuous, 500W peak) Powered Sub, with a specially designed amplifier and the same driver as the non-powered version (JRX118S). It offers dual inputs with balanced XLR connectors, a built-in stereo crossover network and peak limiter to protect the amplifier and speaker from clipping.

Sound: Good solid bass - have only used it for live sound & works great. The balance between: Quality-Price-Size for an active sub I think would be hard to beat, I for one am not going to find out! I run this with a couple QSC KW152's - this works for a pretty sizeable room & outdoors works great - Feature: It gives a lot of options - I have not run it yet as a pass through, I run a sub signal direct - has a lot of options & the limiting works great as does the polarity option - only downside is it needs special JBL speaker poles - if it used standard poles I would give it a 10 Ease of Use: very user friendly - manual is easy to understand, but your really don't need it Quality: these things are solid! - a little heavy, but that is what friends, roadies & dolly's are for! Value: As I mentioned, I think it would be hard to beat the sound-quality-size & price for an active 18" sub - I started with 1, now have 2 & may look to add more! Manufacturer Support: I went on line & was able to easily download the manual (I keep all manuals for my pa stuff on my laptop - I did not have to scan, it was all there - I have not needed any additional support The Wow Factor: nice looking package - looks tough & sounds great Overall: I plan to keep these for a long time

Sound: The bass is warm but not muddy. We really like the way these subs compliment our mains. Feature: They seem solidly built, and they're not as heavy as you might expect. The speakers actually have more features than we're utilizing, so that's a good thing. Ease of Use: Very easy to use, plug it in, set the volume and you're there. As for the manual, it's typically confusing with too much of what one doesn't need, and not enough basic info. As long as engineers write manuals, musicians will continue to be mystified. The good thing is, that Zzounds tech service guys will help you at the drop of a hat. Quality: Excellent! I wish my car was built like this thing! Value: After lots of research I can tell you, this is great value for the money, and they're JBL's man! Manufacturer Support: My support comment is about Zzounds. I researched these and other subs by sending out e-mails to Zzounds and the other big internet music stores, describing our present sound configuration and asking for advice and suggestions. Only one company graciously spent time with me on the internet and on the phone. They helped me to not only find the best fit for our system, but also HOW to make it work most efficiently, and WHY it would. Thank you guys, we will always shop you first in the future. The Wow Factor: It's a subwoofer. Guitars make me weak in the knees (OK maybe a Marshall stack or an old blonde tolex Showman have that effect too), but a sub's a sub Overall: This pretty much does it for our current PA config. I think we'll just replace these when they wear out, which I hope isn't for a long time.
