Get a total sound system with this compact, powered 2-way PA speaker from JBL. These EONs include a 15-inch woofer and a neodymium compression driver.

The JBL EON 315 is a highly versatile sound reinforcement solution that suits the needs of all types of performers. Featuring a high-quality Class-D amplifier that delivers a continuous 280 watts of power, a combination XLR and 1/4-inch input, XLR slave output for daisy chaining several EONs together, and pre-engineered EQ settings to calibrate the speaker's response to its surroundings, the JBL EON 315 is a self-contained PA system that is portable, flexible, and always ready to rock.

High-Quality Power Amp and Speaker Design

The JBL EON 315 features the latest Class-D amplifier technology. Delivering a whopping 280 watts of continuous power, the JBL EON 315 packs a serious sonic punch. Of course this power is useless without a front-end design that delivers accurate and evenly dispersed sound. Delivering the bulk of this thunderous sound is a 15-inch woofer with a 2.5-inch center voice coil to delivers tight, distortion-free low-end down to a chest-pounding 50 Hz. The Ferro-fluid-cooled high-frequency driver has a 100 x 60-degree asymmetrical waveguide design to help your speaker cover a wide angle, ensuring that the entire audience will catch every nuance of your performance. Plus, this speaker comes with built-in EQ settings: If you're reinforcing a live performance, engage the "flat" setting, or if you're playing back prerecorded music, try the "boost" EQ setting for increased energy in the highs and lows. The "cut" setting rolls off bass below 120 Hz -- useful if read more you're running a separate subwoofer.

Plug in a Mic-Level or Line-Level Input

Each JBL EON 315 has one combination XLR and 1/4-inch balanced input jack, with selectable gain sensitivity you can set to accommodate the source you're plugging in. Have you ever connected an MP3 player to a powered speaker, only to find that the sound is distorted? Distortion caused by driving the preamp too hot is often unavoidable with high-output consumer audio gear, but the JBL EON 315 solves this problem by allowing you to set the sensitivity of the preamp to accommodate the hot output of an MP3 player. Just press the Mic/Line button to calibrate the 315's input sensitivity to suit a passive mixer, or a dynamic microphone. The Signal indicator LED lights up to show that a signal is present, and the Limit light will illuminate if the incoming signal is hot enough to engage the 315's built-in limiter.

Road-Worthy Build Quality

Before any EON 315 can leave the factory, it has to endure JBL's grueling 100-hour "torture test." This ensures that every EON 315 is capable of handing just about any kind of abuse. The built-in active and passive protection components ensure that the signal circuitry is protected, while the limiter ensures that your signal will never distort the speaker, greatly extending the life of this live sound powerhouse. The rugged chassis is made of a hardened composite shell, and provides a sturdy, and secure enclosure for the internal components. The full-metal grille with a protective backing also ensures that nothing will ever come in contact with the sensitive woofer material.

Extremely Portable

When you're a one-man road crew and performer, you need your gear to be simple to use. This means that loading in, setting up, rocking out, and packing up again should be as easy as possible -- after all, you've got to sign autographs while packing up the van, right? JBL implemented some key design features to help out artists and engineers alike. They took a look at the design of the previous EON and decided that the excess weight needed to be shed. The JBL EON 315 comes in at a light 35 pounds with three full-sized handles and a fourth grip point, allowing the speaker to be carried at any angle with ease. You can carry it, set it up, and tear it down without ever struggling for a good grip.

Highly Versatile

If you are a gigging musician, you know that a gig can take place just about anywhere. The JBL EON 315 was built with flexibility and versatility in mind. The EON 315 can be set up in a forward, crowd-facing position for main PA applications. However, when a stage monitor is needed, it can be placed on its horizontal axis, instantly turning it into a stage monitor. If you show up to a gig, and there's already a solid PA in place, there is no need to leave your EON 315 by the wayside -- simply bring it on stage with you, place it on its side and instantly have a professional grade monitor feeding you clear and pristine sound. And for the venue owner, the EON 315 has standard M10 suspension points, so your EON 315 can fly with ease in your venue. "Some quiet noise when idle, other than that absolutely gorgeous speakers"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Sound:Features:Quality:Value:

Sound
Big sound from a very compact and lightweight enclosure, considering 15" driver. Not so much different compared with classic EON series that were produced in the USA (these babies came from China, of course). Bass is deep and full, and soft, as we are used to expect from JBL if i may say, but well defined, also on high levels. Mids absolutely gorgeous, clear and warm, highs maybe a little bit attenuated but clear and nice sounding. Great sound is definitely what these boxes deliver. At first I was a little bit dissapointed when I heard some "cooking" noise when speakers were powered-up, probably SLB of a D-class amp is twisting or something, but I forgot that issue as soon as I pushed the signal to them, no big deal at all.

Features
Not much to do with it, just plug&play, EQ switch to change the mode, you just push the power up switch, plug in your cable and voila! Nothing else needed.Talking about the weight of the boxes, in my opinion it is way the lightest high quality decibel in the market, period.

Ease of Use
Couldn't be easier. You just plug'n'play.

Quality
Similar sound quality as always from JBL, great bang for buck. Will see how this plastic will handle scratches, but it is not what music is all about, is it? Looks good, feels good. I killed my highest overall & quality rating only because of the idle noise I read more mentioned above, but I believe that I overreacted with this.

Value
Compared to all other competitors that i tried recently, this is a dream come true. EV ZLX-15P is the biggest disappointment, very low SPL and easy braking, dirty sound even on moderate levels, despite heavy processing, LCD display and everything else. A pair of my babies would blow away 3 pairs of these EVs for sure. And they rate them 1000W! Also, I tried dB Opera Black Line 15", which sounds good on low levels, maybe a little bit harsh, but well defined, but breaks easily on moderate levels, and are overpriced in my country (almost 30% more expensive than EON315, but 70% less sound and volume). After that I went for an FBT active solutions, but soon found out that although they are perfect for vocals they lack this deep and soft low end of JBL, and are absolutely not suited for music & DJ apps. Also, very high-priced. One more big dissapointment was the Cerwin Vega P1500X which sounded very distorted starting from moderate levels up. When I finally tested EONs it was like heaven, big sound, high volume with absolutely no distortion. And in Serbia they cost exactly the same as ELX-15P, 550 EUR a piece, but n times more sound. This is where the value of these babies is.

Manufacturer Support
Nothing much to say for the moment. I used JBLs before, no need to contact anybody because no problems. But there is a dealer and service support in my country, which is not common to other brands.

The Wow Factor
This is exactly what I said after trying many other alternatives, WOW!
