"Much more than I bargained for, a real surprise."
Feature:
I'm very satisfied with it's simplicity. I have other basses with EQ and boosts and cuts and it's nice to play a bass with simple controls that give you immediate response to any changes you make on the fly.

Quality:
I am pleased with the quality of this guitar. When you consider what I paid for it, if I played it five times, it would have paid for itself. Actually, I've played it over a hundred times (very active musician), and all of it on the road, live. It's holding up just fine. I don't worry about it breaking, it's always been ther for me. I usually don't take a backup with me, I trust the guitar. So far, it looks like it's going to go the distance. I look forward to many more years of playing it. The only negative I see is the bridge, I don't like floating bridges. But I did have it professionaly set up, and will continue to have an expert take care of it.

Value:
I think the guitar has far exceeded the selling price. I happy with it.

Desirability:
If it wasn't a 10, I wouldn't have bought it. I bouhgt this guitar on appearence only. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound and the playability and the overall quality of the instrument. It is a great addition to my ever growing collection.

Sound:
It has a big sound for a small lightweight bass. It's a good sound for my style of playing. All of my playing is in a live environment and I have received many good comments on the warmth and bassiness of the sound. I have many bass guitars and this bass fits into my arsenal perfectly. I have been using it more and more because of its full sound and tonal qualities. It is a great addition to my collection and I intend to use it freguently. I play it through a Crate 30W bass amp, and a Crate 100W bass amp with a Zoom multiprocesser pedal. I also play it through a Carvin 100W AG amp with built in effects. No matter what amp I use, the sound is great. There are also time I play plug it right into the sound system. Again, the sound is amazing.

Ease of Use:
As I said before, no complaints about the sound. It is great. Again, it's easy to change your sound on the fly, I like that ability. The bass works well with all of my equipment, and for me, there was no learning curve involved, again, simplicity is a good thing. I am really impressed with the with the ease of playing this guitar. I have long scale 5 strings, and the short scale of this guitar is a pleasure to play, not to forget the lightweight body.

Support:
No experience with this.

Overall:
I expect to be palying this guitar for a long long time. If I seek another product, it would be specifically for a different sound. As I have said earlier, I have many bass guitars and their price range is broad, this guitar being more towards the low end of that range, but again, the sound quality, the playability, and the looks puts it right up there with my expensive guitars. I am very pleased with this bass. I like the looks and the sound best of all, I dislike the bridge.

"GREAT option for classic bass sound"
Feature:
Having small-average size hands, and preferring quick playing style, the shorter scale and narrow neck is PERFECT for me. The only negative point is the bridge, which is the same as on the original Hofner Beatle bass by the way: adjusting the intonation is difficult because the bridge is free-floating (NEVER!! TAKE ALL 4 STRINGS OFF) and the saddles have 4 distinct positions, rather than easy-adjust screw types. However, by loosening the A,D,G strings I was able to "swing" the bridge, pivoting it under the E string, which when combined with moving the saddles allowed me to get my intonation just about dead on. So it is possible. As mentioned, the bridge is true to the Hofner original, so all "Beatle" basses will exhibit the same limitation. Oh, DON'T FORGET TO GET THE CASE (if you want a hard case).

Quality:
Overall, fit/finish/build is satisfactory. The nut around my input jack has needed tightening a few times, but other than that it's been fine.

Value:
I'm THRILLED with this bass. It looks GREAT, plays extremely well (especially w/ half-round strings, has the classic sound I wanted. This is the only bass I have because it's great for classic rock. If you want a lot of "edge", this might not suite you.

Desirability:
This is a beautiful instrument. I love how it looks and plays. If you can't afford the new "Chinese" Hofner ( around $350), this is a great second.

Sound:
I've been playing bass, classic rock, since, well, classic rock originated in the '60's. This bass is well suited for this kind of music; probably wouldn't suite for slap. I switched strings, first to flat wounds - great warm sound but high notes a bit muddy, then switched to half-rounds: perfect! I hate the finger noise I get w/ round wounds, and they sound tinny to my ear.

Ease of Use:
Controls are straight forward. Pickup controls definitely affect the sound. The "rhythm / lead" switch boosts your volume when you're going to do a solo lick.

Support:
no experience with it

Overall:
I'm not looking for another bass; very satisfied with the sound, looks, value. I recommend it highly for those who want a warmer, classic bass sound.
