Light up any stage, big or small, with the gorgeous JS3VQ bass. This 5-stringer produces muscular tone from a pair of humbuckers and an active 3-band EQ.

The Jackson JS3VQ Concert 5-String Electric Bass models rock seismic sound, style and affordability. The five-string Concert Bass JS3VQ is a 35”-scale model featuring a lightweight and resonant poplar body with an elegant quilt maple top, fully bound bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint, and a 12”-16” compound radius rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and classic sharkfin inlays. Jackson dual high-output humbucking bass pickups power a monstrous low-end growl, while a high mass bridge provides rock-solid stability. Also equipped with an active 3-band EQ and a pair of volume control knobs to tweak tone. Available in Transparent Cherry Burst, Transparent Black Burst or Transparent Red Burst with Jackson pointed 5-in-line headstock and black hardware.

I got the Transparent Cherry finish and it is immaculate. The binding on the fretboard and headstock have always appealed to me on Jacksons. The bridge offers good sustain. The electronics are clean and powerful; the tone is crisp and punchy with good bottom to it, even with all my dials set at the middle indent (volume maxed). If I had to try to find a shortcoming, the tuning machines can have a little play. But, that said, the bass tunes up easy and STAYS in tune. I have had a Music Man Stingray and an assortment of the Sterlings (SBMM) in their SUB and 34/35 series and this bass has that same great punch while maybe a little more bright. If you want a bass to cut through the mix, stay in tune and look good, here you go.
