What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Mahogany body Rich, warm, focused sound; added sustain
EMG 81 active humbucking pickups High-output rail magnet; balanced and focused tone
EMG 85 active humbucking pickup Warm and natural tone; focused attack
Floyd Rose locking tremolo Stays in tune through dive bombs or light vibratos

Monstrous tone plus ergonomic design with ultra-fast playability, the the X Series Soloist SLATXMG3-6 is conceived as a launching platform for technically advanced guitar playing.

Dual graphite reinforcement rods run the length of the maple neck with speed profile to fortify it against the extremes of nature, buttressing it against warping while a speedy 12"-16" compound radius fingerboard creates the ideal playing surface for fat riffs and easy chording near the black plastic nut while gradually flattening in the upper registers for lightning-quick solos and wide bends without fear of fretting out. A pair of EMG active Humbucking pickups--an 85 neck pickup and 81 bridge pickup-- generate versatile, huge and high output tones for brutal distortion and clear, crisp cleans.

Equipped with a Floyd Rose Special bridge and Jackson-branded tuning machines. Classic Jackson appointments include the instantly recognizable piranha inlays, black hardware, single-ply neck binding and the Soloist's ergonomically arched top for playing blazing licks with comfort. Sleek, refined, and dangerous, the X Series Soloist SLATXMG3-6 is art brought to life, tempered with high-tech performance for the ultimate guitar.

This guitar was shipped extremely fast with nice secure packaging. I had high hopes for this as the specs were very good. This guitar exceeded my expectations. The neck is super fast and the notes ring out forever. The pics on here don't do it justice. It's much darker in person which is a good thing IMHO. I've been playing for well over 12 years. Normally I play LP style guitars so this is the polar opposite as far a playability. It stays in tune even with heavy tremolo use. The action was perfect right out of the box. No setup needed for me anyways. It looks very sharp and performs as well as it looks. The pics don't show this, but it has a nice black neck binding. The clean tone with this guitar is crisp and sounds amazing. For this price you'd be stupid not to buy it. Good luck finding a neck-thru for 700 that sounds and feels better than this.
