This Guitar is as good as any Jackson any brand in this class, I have owned many guitars including the highest end Neck-Thru-Body Jacksons and this Dinky actually plays better, the setup was spot on right out of the box, the action is flat, no buzz and lightning fast especially with the maple neck (with a hand-rubbed urethane gel back finish) so smooth and the compound radius ebony fingerboard is like butter, the tone with the JB / ’59 pickup combination is insanely good! Heavy Heavy on the low end crunch and the clean channel was a real surprise for me, I was afraid this was a 1 trick pony guitar WOW was I wrong, the clean channel with the 5 way options can deliver sparkling HEAVEN and PURE clean tone that is ready for any live gig or full studio recording. I returned a Charvel San Dimas (which did have some electronic issue) and got this Jackson instead and over all both guitars are great but the Jackson is for me way better because of the flat action, the tone for Metal and the clean tone on this for some reason is way better. If you aren't sure what to but in this class of guitar, just do it! The only thing I could say that is maybe a con would be that the finish is not as smooth as I would expect, if you run your hand over the finish you can feel the wood-grain. Not a problem at all though because the guitar is also sooooo beautiful, just a FYI the photo's of this guitar here are not what it looks like at all, the finish is dark black and with all the black hardware it read more is just what I was looking for, I was afraid it was going to look like those photo's.
