I've had other scanners, but this one is way easier! For one thing, you can scan your slides anywhere! No need to be hooked to the computer. I like canned air instead of the inclosed screen cleaner, but that's personal choice. The quality is good, and the slide stacking device is very fast. I did find that there's a tendency for it to mis-fire and try to force two slides under the screen at once. There's a short learning curve that could be shortened with instructions. Mine came with no written instructions, so had to experiment a bit.
